What kind of crap is this?
 

I had a version of Ghost Recon collecting dust. I got it for free with my video card. I was bored so I decided to play it. No problemo, I played some of the (always boring) tutorial. Then I remembered to patch (1.3) it, but after that, the game didn't work anymore because it asked for the 'original Ghost Recon CD-ROM'. I tried an even newer patch (1.4), hoping they solved the problem, but no.

What's the idea? They give away an old game, but don't want people to play a newer version of it? :mad:

Ok, a no-CD patch fixed it, but I got tired of the game after 3 minutes. :zzz:

I lost my Half Life CDs, together with my CD-key, so I haven't played CS in a while. :(
I'll play WC3 with you though. :)

beautiful thing about steam, even if you lose the game CD's you can still install and run the game :) if i lost my HL2 CD and Cdkey, all i gotta do is download steam, login with my name and password, and it knows what games i've bought, just clickon the game to start downloading and install. :)

Thing is, I never bought things with Steam. I'm talking about my old Half Life GOTY edition.

You can't watch replays from a previous patch (which sucks). Perhaps someone came up with a solution though...
