Well, this is finally good-bye. Not only am I quitting the position of “Comic Artist” but I’m also leaving the forums. Spending all my time on a board discussing games and whether or not Shooter’s new name is good (which it isn’t) is a bit distracting towards what I should be focusing on at the moment: getting into college.

NintendoDolphin.net was fun. Nothing was known on the system and the competitors were fuzzy too. Speculation was what kept everyone going and excited those each time a new tidbit of info would arise. Foes like Y2Kev became local legend and there was even that little dispute between ND.net and NintendoNext (later NintendoNation). This time was the golden age.

Now the next-gen systems are all available and the hoopla boarded a train to some shindig with a fancy name but they don’t serve shrimp like the name applies. Just give me a sec, I’ll think of it. Captain something or other?

Anywhoo, I’m disappointed the current consoles. Though I see many denying it, Nintendo has not nor will claim supreme over this generation of systems. They reinforced their kiddy image instead of shedding it. Maybe once the current prez finally retires and the new hands take over, Nintendo can once again become a force in gaming, but not now.

Not only did they fudge up by using smaller discs (what’s wrong with a little piracy if your bank account increases in the process?) but the button layout on the controller also hinders developers to develop for the system. Even Xbox remade their controller so the button layout more closely mirrors that of PSX/PS2’s.

Shigeru “The Shigster” Miyamoto would be better off if so much pressure wasn’t placed on him. He’s a crazy Japanese man in his 40s obsessed with gardening. We all know he’s done some kind of drugs with all his mushroom references and now with the whole “gardening” deal. Let him make his innovative games but don’t rely on him for the cheese on the pizza anymore. New developers should step up and not be afraid of having to incorporate an already established Nintendo icon into their game idea.

With all that said and done I might occasionally drop by for questions that need answering but as the bum we affectionately call Smelly Bob says, “it be rare, it be very rare indeed.” Look for my art in the future at side7.com and happy belated birthday to Penguin. I”ll beat you someday...just not in SSB:M.

I do agree that things seemed more "Exciting" at ND.net and Ndose though... but oh well... I still like it here and I'm not leaving EVAAR! If you guys ever shut down, I'll keep it bookmarked and stop by now and then for a little candle-light ceremony... :unsure:

It's just too bad that I'm like everyone's least favorite long-time member ;)

And I do agree that Nintendo has been making mistakes and NGC isn't doing too hot and I don't even think the future is as bright as some people think (when it comes to upcoming games) although I still think it's worth owning and I don't care if Miyamoto is some crazy druggie... :roll:
