That's one of the worst magnet related deaths I've heard of. Perhaps if he swallowed them in a smaller or greater interval of time this never would have happened.

I hate it when people say its the parents' fault for not watching the kid with something like this. Finding and swallowing two tiny magnets would have taken no time at all. A parent can't watch a child every waking second.

"It does say there is a choking hazard on here," Penny Sweet said. "Unfortunately, they don't say it causes serious injury or death, which is the kind warning they need to have on here."

and choking can't result ins erious injury or death?

anyway, poor kid i guess...and as much as i agree with Link, i still think they should have been watching him...he's 2...not even in pre-school.

frankly if i were the paretns i wouldn't let my eyes off of him.

Swalloing would only take a few seconds, but finding them is not something that goes unnoticed.

if it was possible for the parents to see the warning label on it, then maybe they should have paid more attention to the child when playing with the device.

Why did little Kenny feel compelled to put the magnets in his mouth? Was he really hungry? Or was he just being a pig? Is it possible that the parents may have not fed him enough, thus forcing Kenny to consume non-consumable item?

WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN TO READ.

"NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THREE."

"NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THREE"

I hate to put the blame on the parents, but if they didn't know kids under three put things in their mouth, I don't think they have a right to start a movement like this.

"The magnets were encased in plastic building blocks toys that Penny's 10-year-old son had been playing with. Penny says some of the magnets fell out, and Kenny apparently found them in the carpet and swallowed them."

Mom's name's Penny, young son's named Kenny...

Maybe the 10-year-old is named Lenny?

Either way, they didn't buy the toy for the 3-year-old, and he wasn't the one playing with them...

Did the people making them think "What happens if they swallow 2 and attract to each other int he intestines. What will happen ot billy?" I know they have to examine all angles but they couldnt just think *that* would happen

Bottom line, the parents knew there was a serious risk in a choking hazard. They also knew that the little pieces had fallen out of the broken toy? At what point do you say to yourself, "We should clean this up"
