God damn freaken' cops
*Fights the man*
Story time, kiddies! So last night I was coming back from my friends house. He lives about an hour walk away from my house. He had my baseball bat at his house, so I decided, there was no better time, because we never really hang out at his house, so I wouldnt have a more opportune moment to have it. So I started walking home at about 3:30 am this morning, bat in hand. I'm more than halfway home, way more. (For those of you who know, He lives on Western Drive, and I was at Blockbuster Video on Prairie.) And all of a sudden, a female cop pulls up next to me and asks me what I'm doing. Me: "I'm going home." Her: "With a bat? It isnt baseball season, sir." Me: "Well, I'm coming from my friends house, and he had my bat, so I decided to take it." Her: "It looks suspicious that you would have a bat at quarter after 4 in the morning, sir." Me: "I....I'm coming from my friends house...he had my bat. I felt the need to take my item back to my house, you know." Her: "Well, next time you decide to transport a baseball bat, please do it in the daytime, sir." Me: "Could I not be able to look suspicious and smash things with equal ease during the day? I mean, the daylight cant make some sort of protective forcefield against mailboxes and car windows. I'm sure it would look equally as suspicious, if not more, during the daytime." Her: "Get in the car, sir." Sure, this may look stupid on my part for talking back to a police officer. But it did get me a ride, which got me home faster. And I was sort of offended she drew her gun on me when she was asking what was in my socks. Which turned out to be my ankles. Surprise surprise. I mean, I wasnt even holding the bat at that point in time. She even had her gun pointed at me. It's not like its some hard run down part of the city or anything. There are no slums here, there isnt any gang violence, we dont have frequent murders. And you might think that its part of her job to draw her gun when dealing with a "suspect". But I sort of find it offensive that she drew her gun on a kid that wanted to go to bed so he can sleep. /end rant |
Re: God damn freaken' cops

Re: God damn freaken' cops
I would have cuffed you.

Re: God damn freaken' cops
you should've pulled out your candid camera and said, "smile!"

Re: God damn freaken' cops
She called you sir.
I remember once some cop thought me and my friends stole a barbeque. We were out wandering around at about 1:00 and she pops out of a bush and says that somebody recently had taken a barbeque around here... |

Thats why I was shocked over last night and her pulling her gun on me. People stealing a barbeque is the worst things really get here. But no, me concealing my ankles in socks seems to be a gun-drawable offence. :p |
Re: God damn freaken' cops
Maybe if you didn't have black hair and (likely) a black hoodie on at the time it would've looked less suspicious.
You have to admit, a kid walking around with a bat at 4am in the middle of winter seems like risky business to me. She had every right to come out and talk to you, and smart talking her didn't do you any good. Don't worry, I've been pulled over and harassed for less. It always happens. |

So you're telling me if I wore the same thing during the middle of the day, somehow the suspicion is magically gone? :p And its not that she talked to me that bothers me, I even told her I know it looks wrong. It's the fact she drew her gun at me for no reason. Cops here dont draw guns unless you pose a threat. How many preppy kids are threatening? :p |

Well, my pants were covering my legs. But my socks were pulled up. It was cold. So I understand that. But I dont have wierd ankles or anything, haha. It was just the whole gun pulling thing that made me get lippy and annoyed. And for the record, I dislike Corona. But the hat was 20 dollars at Bootlegger. Yes, Bootlegger. |

Yeah, right  |
Re: God damn freaken' cops
I would honestly be more afraid of someone suspicious carrying a bat during the day. Usually they aren't afraid to get seen, so they will be even more vicous.
And why exactly about the ankles, were you going to show her that you didn't have anything there? |
Re: God damn freaken' cops
nice story...i liked it! we should have more of these! :p and she drew the gun because a baseball bat is considered a weapon outside of the playing field, she drew the weapon to protect herself just in case. |

The cop said "Have a good night." Cops around here are dumb. Also, me and Andrew were walking home from our friend Brian's house, and these cops pull right over the lane in an intersection on to the curb to start questioning us just because we happened to stop to talk before we parted ways. YES, IF I'M GOING TO DEAL DRUGS, I'LL DO IT WIDE OPEN UNDER A STREET LIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION. You cops think I'm dumb? Jesus. |
Re: God damn freaken' cops
I was out and about with my friends Lauren nd Jen (who happens to be Andrew's sister) and we ended up at some little school near my highschool where some of their friends were.
As soon as we showed up, the cops arrived. They joked around telling everyone to drop their beers, looked in a few girls' purses for drugs, and whatnot. One kid who had pot on him got real scared and threw a bag with three joints in it on the ground. One of the cops found it and said "Whoa, somebody's droppin' the ganj", and then promptly put the bag in his pocket and told us all to get lost. Good times. |
