Saw this tonight/this morning.

Good movie, but not great as I have come to expect from most war movies I've seen (Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan, etc.).

Check it out though. Definently worth general admition. Jake Gyllenhaal is a really great actor IMO. From Donnie Darko, to Day After Tomorrow, to Proof, to Jarhead he really becomes the character.

I really want to see this, really bad.

It looks so good, and he's a really good actor.

It looks awesome.


But it isnt fair to put it in the same catagory of Saving Privat Ryan or Full Metal Jacket, because wasnt Jarhead written or based on a book written by a sniper that was stationed there?

I have no idea, but a war movie is a war movie in my thought process so its a fair comparison to me. Would comparing it the Enemy at the Gates be more fair instead>?

saw it, thought it was ok, but didn't enjoy it any .... very anticlimactic, and sort of left wing bias... can't be very good for marine PR either, makes marines look like lazy, unorganized idiots.... but....

Its a true story...it was suppoused to be anticlimatic....because thats what really happened. And I wouldnt say it makes the Marines look bad at all...I mean, just look at all that training they had to go through to get there. I thought it was great.
