Revolution Specs
Apparently, in the next issue of Gameinformer, the Revolution Specs will be posted, here they are

Rev Specs:
2 G5 1.8GHZ CPUS (NOT 2XCORE)
512K L2 Cache

1200 MHZ Front Side BUS - Xbox 360’s FSB is 1000 MHz

600MHz GPU with 12MB embedded 1T SRAM – 2x Pipes 4x T read?

128MB 1T SRAM MAIN MEMORY 600 MHz (L3 Cache to CPU and GPU)

256MB 400MHZ NEC design embedded DRAM

Embedded 16-BIT HD 7.1Digital sound chip
Dedicated sound bandwidth with zero affect on CPU

6GB HD Dual Layer Panasonic Discs

When combined Rev CPUs equal 3.6 GHz. Uses copper wire for less heat and is 200MHZ faster than X360 via FSB

A 3:1 balance ratio between CPU and RAM

1:1 balance ratio between GPU and Ram

It sounds low but I guess it can do.

I hope 6GB Dual Layer discs doesnt mean dual layer is 6 gigs. I hope it means it can be 12 because Nintendo is gonna screw themselves again of alot of 3rd party games if their storage size isnt comparable to MS or Sony *cough Gamecube*

Sounds low? LOL, I thought that sounded about on par.... the only thing that sounds low is in fact the 6gb dual layer discs. But who knows if these are the final specs.

Theres nothing in there however that would indicate a new form of controller.... we'll have to see.

How is that low? Do we need Sony to reword it for you so it sounds better?

It's not low. And I'd like to see the jump from pro logic II to 7.1. I would just laugh.

Sounds great to me! Although im not all that familar with microsofts and sony's suppoused specs so im really not one to judge. The part that really jumps out at me is the suppoused 7.1 HD sound. With Nintendo's apparent "We dont give a **** about HD" attitude, this dosent make sense...I hope like hell im wrong though.

But in all honesty, I was just kinda thinking about it, and did the Gamecube's discs LOW storage capacity really hurt it any? I mean if there wasnt enough room, games just went to 2 discs, I dont think it was really much of an issue...I could be wrong though.

Re: REV finalized specs?

Well I wouldn't say it hurt IT, but it hurt them with third party developers. Considering it's a hassle to do games on 2 discs, rather then one. It's also a hassle for consumers... (for me at least) to go ahead and get up to switch a disc if I'm playing a long running RPG.

You know those RPG's that in the middle of all the climax goes "Please insert Disc 2" LOL

But who knows if these specs are final. I hope to god Nintendo doesn't go into the Next-Gen battle with such low disc storage.

6 GB's dosent seem low...I mean the Cube's were only 1.5, so thats obviously a huge jump...what are sony and Microsofts capacities?

25 GB I believe with blu-ray... 50gb with dual layer blu-ray. Dunno the story on the HD DVD Micro is using.

HD-DVD is supposedly 9 gigs if I remember right. But could be wrong

Re: REV finalized specs?

Microsoft is using DVD9, aka a dual-layered single-sided DVD. Sony is using Blu-Ray, 25GB per layer.

HD-DVD is 15GB per layer, with triple-layer capabilities. For the record.
