This could also be good news for NGC or PS2...

How would that be good news for PS2 or NGC if Sega will be concentrating on the XBox? Please explain.:confused:

Sorry, does that say Xbox-only? :confused:

I know the article is about the XBox arcade hardware, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the games will be Xbox exclusive....there's always ports...

Stu, outside of the XBox forum I think you're a pretty good member. My major criticism is that for a guy who doesn't have a very good opinion of the XBox in general, you spend a whole lot of time in the XBox forum making criticisms, practicing selective yellow journalism (posting only poor XBox reviews for example, and then saying your playing Mr. Joe Reporter) and spreading general ill will among the XBox fans. You may not even realize you do this, but it is quite apparent to myself and others that you do.

I am not a PS2 fan, as you know from my post in PVG, although I am a fan of GTA3. I don't spend much time in the PS2 forum because I don't have one. If I don't have a PS2, so theres no reason for me to be in there, in general. I do make some appearances to comment on games, but mainly I stick to the forums of consoles I own and play.

Now I'm not saying you should stay in the PS2 forum, but when you post in the XBox forum, perhaps you should look at your posts through fresh eyes, and examine whether or not the information you are posting paints you as being biased.

Well I wonder what the games are gonna be?? Maybe it'll beall arcade ports or something? Or maybe it'll something totally new...who knows...I guess we'll have to wait....I hope Sega doesn't pull a Capcom.....I remember it like yesterday......We at Capcom will reveal out full Cube line up....and blam 2 months later nothing.......errrrrr ok i strayed from the topic but I had to get it offf my chest.:D

Actually I'm the one who go off topic, sorry about that. But what you said does intrigue me. Exactly what will be making its way to the XBox from Sega, and how will they use the greater power to make it distinguish itself from the rest?

I'll be curious to see what is announced.

Ok heres a little bit more info on this that might help you out a little it was posted last night on Xbox.IGN.com.

Kayama addressed some issues in the company`s arcade plans. `Xbox is not Sega`s basic arcade hardware,` commented Kayama. `The system`s specs are high, and thus our lineup for the system is greater than our lineup for Nintendo`s Triforce system. However, there are also games for which Triforce must be used.` Sega has yet to announce arcade titles for either board, although AM2`s newest titles are expected to make use of the Xbox compatible board.

Virtua Fighter seems to be the big game on everyone`s minds of late, with the PS2 version`s recent American release along with rumours going around of a version for the Xbox. Kayama didn`t discuss these two issues, but did mention the series in a couple of contexts. He first mentioned an Online game which uses Virtua Fighter 4 as its base. No such game exists at this point -- it`s just something that Kayama was thinking of -- but apparently AM2 also feels that such a project would be interesting. Kayama commented that such a game would be different from Phantasy Star Online.

Perhaps less relevant to the company`s future plans is Kayama`s mentioning of a Virtua Fighter Kids title in relation to the GameCube. While we`d love to see such a game some day (the first VF Kids for the Saturn was a blast), Kayama only mentioned the title as an example of what he thought would be appropriate for the GameCube market. Kayama initially commented on how he`d like to see the GameCube version of Eternal Arcadia (Skies of Arcadia in America) be tuned up so that children can enjoy it, mentioning the excited feeling of flying the game`s trademark sky ships. He believes that games need to be tuned to GameCube users, rather than doing straight ports. As an example, he mentioned Virtua Fighter, commenting that bringing the game to the GameCube as is would be `Nonsense.` Instead, it would be better to bring something akin to Virtua Fighter Kids, and then once gamers have played the game, take them to the next step with the real Virtua Fighter. Once again, this is not confirmation that Virtua Fighter exists in any way, shape or form for the Nintendo hardware.

Kayama is expected to speak with Famitsu again in the issue due out on Friday, on the eve of Sega`s big Game Jam festival. Expect more then.

I think Gamecube fans should be a little worried from what that article says. Sega seems to be aiming its kids games straight at the Gamecube. I think adult Gamecube fans need to let it be known to developers that they also exist, and they would like the grown up versions of games also.
