As soon as Neo reads the thread I made in the Staff Forum, I am becoming a "Retired Moderator." That's just the summary of this thread for those of you who have attention deficit disorder and don't want to read the rest of my post.

I told you all that I am retiring as moderator here pending the launch of a new website that I will be writing for. While it hasn't launched yet, I have seen a built of the site, and I am satisfied that it is nearly done. The staff has asked me to start writing fanfics full time so that I can have some substantial stuff to publish when the site launches. As I look around these forums, I realize that now is as good a time as any to make my retirement final. GameTavern is in good hands, morale is good, and it seems to only be going up from here. I owe it to the site to retire at a time like this when the transfer of authority is going to disturb the forums as little as possible.

And that's that. I'm not your General Forum moderator any more.

So what happens from here? Most of you probably don't care, but I'm going to tell you anyway. Aside from writing fanfics to be posted on the front page of the new site (which I will not name to avoid advertising issues), I'm still going to be here. I will probably visit the videogame forums less and less as time goes by, and I most certainly am not going to read every single post in the General Forum. If you want to get my attention at all, you'll have to make a thread that I'm actually interested in. If you manage to do that, I'll post my usual several thousand character post outlining my thoughts at length.

I'll also be at the Black Project Forum posting any weird stuff or stupid stuff I find. I may end up making more posts in there than I do the General Forum, so if you really want to see me, cough up 200 doubloons.

And finally, I'll keep you updated on my fanfics in the Writer's Guild Forum (always linking to my stuff with my sig, of course).

You will also find me at the new website's forums. I am told that I will have some job of authority over there, but whatever it is, it's not going to be my primary job. It will be like Crash's role here: he's an administrator, but banning people isn't what he does most of the time. It will be the same for me. My priority is to turn out high quality fanfics. I hope some of you will read them and give me some feedback.

My last words as a moderator: if everybody would only stop and think a little before posting, there would be no need for moderators like me.

Well I can't really say goodbye because you have the luck of seeing my senseless gabber at the other site's forums. Aren't you estatic? :p Not to mention the fact that you're not leaving entirely. But I will say that I'll miss you as this forum's General Forum moderator. You're definitely one of the finest mods I've ever seen (even during your multiple abuses of power). I wish you the best of luck with your new staff positions and hope to read "your junk", as you on many occasions call it, in the future.

Well.. I know this isn't goodbye.. and I don't have much to say.. I'll see you around GT.. heh.. I'll be reading your fanfics, don't worry. :D

Thanks for keeping things clean in the general board. And enlightening us when it was called for. I respect your thoughts and opinions. You always kept things fair and gave everyone a chance. You be sure to stop by once in a while and say hello, ya hear! I'll come by once in a while too and see how you're doing as well. Take care Xantar.

Well Xantar, I know you'll never see the praise I gave you in the staff forum, but I'll be in Black Project as mucvh as possible, remember the more Darwin awards you can find, the more people you'll get to pay those nice Dblns. I'll be looking for your posts from time to time, and hopefully I'll set aside asome time to take a look at your new site, and read some of your fics.

I am sorry to see you leave your moderating position. But I am happy that you are moving on to bigger and better things.
