Top loading NES
Who else has the top loading NES? I was lucky and found a pretty good deal. A top loading NES + 5 games for $70. Sure it's not the best deal, but it's not bad. On EBay they are usually around $100 and you have to pay for shipping. The controller that comes with it is a lot like the SNES one, but only has two buttons.
Btw, have any of you seen that NES controller that has a joystick looking thing for the d-pad? I've been searching for a good deal on it, but can't seem to get one.:( |
Yes, I have the joystick. It's in my closet.
|
Yeah, I got that Top-loading NES when it first came out, the system never gives me problems now.
|
My cousin has one of those joysticks that screw into the controller, i dont like it much. I have a real joystick though, for my NES, its just like one for the computer only it plugs into the system, i havent found a game to play in on though...

What's a top loading NES look like? Picture, anyone?

(It's DeathsHand... hullo)
Here's a magical picture of a top loading NES (attachment) My friend used to have one... but he moved back to Australia... I'd probably save up for one of those and buy it if I couldn't find a new 72-pin adapter for my normal NES for only 8 bucks and make my ol' NES work like new again... :p Funny thing is, my friend still had a lot of problems with the top loading NES... maybe the games were dirty or something  |
The top loading NES supposedly doesn't have the same problem as the original. I have to admit that it does work better, but to get the games to work I still have to blow into them. I know that blowing into cartridges messes them up, but I can't get them to work any other way. Does anyone know how to get them to work without blowing into them?

So either way worked fine and, for me at least, didn't cause any problems... |

It works great, on all cartridges!! When we buy games from others, they usually don't work that well, but after cleaning them we never have any problems with them!!! DH's Q-tip (whatever that may be:confused: ) should work too. :) |
Ahhh...i used to blow on my games all the time, it didnt ever hurt them. and it was the only way to get them to work so yea...
|
Never had to blow n64 cartridges, did you guys?
|
Thanks DH, using Q-tips helps a lot, and it doesn't damage the cartridges like blowing in them does.
Angrist, can you still buy those cleaning kits at stores? |
Most likely, no. Except for some re-seller like FuncoLand or Electronic Boutique.
