Next NEXT generation graphics!

BETTER THAN FINAL FANTASY MOVIE GRAPHICS

Whoever said that graphics aren't going to get much better than they are now, are out of their freaking minds, look what they are working on now, and in 5 years, this is what gaming will look like... pretty much indistinguishable from real life. The hard part will be making it so you can blow up graphics this good (turok style)

click on the movie below to see how they captured animations, and can dynamically do lighting and facial animation while using a moving camera. My guess is by NEXT next generation, they will be able to render a whole environment and multiple people with this technology.

amazing, however if you look on the right hand side of her face (our left) it's a dead giveaway that it ain't real.

Also she's missing a shoulder

Those graphics are amazing and awe inspiring. Although that example is very ugly.

Graphics this real will finally open the doors to video game pr0n. Where players can control the position, stamina, and amount of noise made. Probably not on the Nintendo system but whatever other game companies still exist.

I hope they're able to fix the shoulder bug in the next 5 years or the industry will come to a grinding halt.

I don't really know if I want photo realistic graphics in my videogames...

I think I'd be somewhat disturbed if I had to shoot something that looked THAT real. I like to distinguish real life from video games in the sense of how things look. Imagine a five year old that plays a shooter game where he shoots what look like real people. Definently couldn't be good for young minds.

A 5 year old playing a killer/shooter? Funny, I thought games have age warnings.

And a little kid playing a relaistic Zombie killing game, is no different than that same kid watching a gory zombie movie with lots of decapitation and what have you. That should be worse if anything, because it is with real people.

Please don't try and bring children into arguments about realism in games.

Re: Next NEXT generation graphics!

I'm not saying children are supposed to be playing those games. But I know that some of them do.

Do I believe there should be restrictions on video game violence? No.

My worry is that game violence that looks real could have adverse effects on the pysche of a person. I could see it negatively affecting teenagers but I shudder to imagine what it could do to a yound child. As an teen/adult I don't think that even I would be comfortable with such realistic violence.

I just don't think that we need to go there. What's the point?

Whats the difference between a realistic violent game, and a realistic violent movie? Games are ficticious characters, Movies are real people.

Re: Next NEXT generation graphics!

The difference is that in a game you're controlling the violence. And it is a somewhat substantial difference.

We shall make a test.

We shall buy 2 babies.

1 shall live on watching the goryest movies for 8 hours a day, every day, for 5 years.

And the other should play the goryest games for 8 hours a day, every day, for 5 years.

One kid would be quoting angelic one-liners while he chops your head off with an axe, and the other would be looking for the "B" button.
