The Prettier Hardware
 

Ok, since the PSP came out, we can finally make our judgements rather then making lackluster speculation.

Which handheld is prettier... the DS or the PSP?





My vote and I will explain why, only because everyone assumes I'm a Sony fanboy...


The PSP is prettier.... the black gloss body gives it a nice shine, and the buttons match the scheme. The buttons shiny as well, everything flows together nicely with the PSP, including the crisp resolution of the screen. It has good aesthetics and everything matches.

The DS although a great handheld, has one of the most ugliest and industrial designs I've seen. Regular clamshell design with your basic two tone black and gray ( may be other colors out there, I dunno ) with black buttons.... to me the buttons add nothing to the DS and it almost seems boring. The best thing I can say about it's looks is the logo on the top. And the protruding speaker dots don't help with the design.

Hands down the PSP is a million times sexier. Shmexier even.

Im not taking anything away from the DS though.


But this is like picking the hotter competitor out of the runner up and winner of the Miss America contest, they're both effing hot, but maybe in different ways.

PSP is shinier, I cant disagree. Nintendo I commend for listening to people at E3 and sleeking up the DS instead of its bland 'thing' originally.

In that photo you can't tell the PSP has a glossy finish...I like it better.

LOL Cany... the PSP has schemes in Japan... not just colors.

A Metal Gear Solid PSP with Camo green and brown
A Gran Turismo PSP with white and speedometer graphics.

The PSP looks better but I don't think the DS looks bad at all.

I'm not sure, but I bet the shiny gloss on the PSP makes every fingerprint visible, making it harder to keep clean looking. The only place on the DS where fingerprints could be visible is on the screen.

The clam shell design might not appeal to all, but it's very practical and serves it's purpose of protecting the screen well. I'm going to have to keep my PSP wrapped in a cloth when I buy one because I'm a stickler for keeping screens scratch free.

that doesnt have all buttons tho...

and no one is saying the DS is bad looking, just the PSP is sexier.
