*shoots winamp*
i didn't know whether to post this here or in the gen. forum (now happy hour... i think... whatever)
IM ABOUT TO KILL MYSELF! i was messing around with winamp earlier because i'm stupid like that and now i can't get it back to the default modern skin from the godawful classic one... i've tried choosing modern, and it's STILL friggen classic. i've been at this for an hour. SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE ME! /me continues cursing loudly and throwing things at her moniter in a vain attempt to fix winamp |
Re: *shoots winamp*
godawful days my azmoto! old winamp skin looks just as good :P
But did you try using a new skin, and then switching back to modern? ORRRR, i once had it where the skin wouldnt change. i slected one i wanted turned it off, (fully, meaning turning agent off too, if you actually have agent on) and then running winamp again. and it worked. and if you dont have any new skins to try, Download MMD3 :) |

no... classic is horrid. urgh yea, i tried the new skin dealio... still didn't work. what do ya mean TURN THE AGENT OFF? can you be any more specific? god i sound like an idiot. |
Re: *shoots winamp*
well, when you close winamp, is there still a winamp logo in the system tray, bottom right corner? if so right click it and close it, or me personally, would select disable winamp agent.
and no new skins work at all is what your saying? |
Re: *shoots winamp*
no, new skins work... it's just...
when i click on MODERN it's the same as CLASSIC and it's driving me insane... i tried the closing the agent thing and it's stil effed up. *pout* buu. |
Re: *shoots winamp*
heh, just reinstall winamp over the winamp right now (dont delete it) all your skins and plugins will stay and it only takes a few seconds. thats the quickest way without searching thro the options to find out what you hit.
i wonder if its possible to delete the modern skin... hmm |
Re: *shoots winamp*
*sigh*
that's what i was afraid of. thanks anyway :D |
Re: *shoots winamp*
whats to be afraid of. very easy and quick to install program anyway :P
its just easier to tell you that then to search thro winamp at all the options that might effect it. lol |
Re: *shoots winamp*
Can I encourage you to try iTunes?
|
Re: *shoots winamp*
itunes is good for its music store. other then that winamp beats it hands down. Quicker, Smaller, honestly i like Winamps ipod support better.
And the biggest thing. itunes cant code mp3's in VBR. *chooses winamp* |

there was a couple versions of it that were buggy now and then. but this version is pretty much solid. it is the last version after all. but a side from the music store. itunes doesnt do anything better. not being able to make VBR mp3's on it hurts a LOT, vbr's will give you better quality at less space. better with less space then itunes aac format also. i find the drag and drop on winamp actually works faster. and in itunes, i have to click on a song, hold shift and click on the others to highlight the ones i want. Winamp i just draw a box around it with the mouse. works much faster when you doing a lot of highlighting. Also winamp TV is cool when theres actually a channel thats not full. lol. that and winamp can do a lot more with plugins and things. for thoes ipod lovers they even got a pretty cool skin, it makes winamp look exactly like an ipod. menus and everything. scroll using the scroll wheel on it and use it just like a real ipod. lol. i dont use it but it was neat anyway. :p |
Re: *shoots winamp*
I've been using Winamp since....well since Winamp 2 and I've never had any problems with it. I like it better than anything I've ever used before incuding iTunes. But that's just my experience. Of course some people will have problems with it.

Re: *shoots winamp*
I prefer iTunes after using Winamp. I just found it too clunky most of the time. I find iTunes to be more sleek and stylish. And, I can control iTunes with my keyboard and I could never get it to work with Winamp.

Re: *shoots winamp*
I liked Winamp for playing IE plugin links like midi and such but when it comes to listening to music I choose iTunes.
iTunes lets you listen to some good radio stations and the music store. Also, iTunes has a list of all your playlists right there waiting to be played, whilst in Winamp you must load a playlist. Unless that has changed in the current version? |
