Re: Singing in the Rain Remix
Since I'm a filmmaker, I was able to recognize the quality and history behind the making of this commercial.

That was just weird.....and I don't think its that great of a commercial because I didnt even see the car in the end!

Re: Singing in the Rain Remix
Kind of easy to tell his head was stuck onto the new body...but very cool nonetheless. Never thought I'd see Gene Kelly dance like that...cannot stop watching.

Re: Singing in the Rain Remix
Well I'm addicted to the commercial.
Found the website of the group who made it. Came across it unattentionally if you can believe it. Anway some freaky videos there. Check out Futureshock on the works page. http://www.ne-o.co.uk/ |

Does that help sell their product though? I've never understood the use of extremely cool and funny commercials showing a duck on fire hitting on Carmen Electra in a hot tub filled with soy sauce and caramel while the artist formally known as Shaq plays the guitar in Nova Scotia when it zooms in on his guitar pic to see the germs then finally in the end having the caption "Lysol."...or something like that. Sure I'll remember the commercial, but that wont change my decision in purchasing the product.
I just think that if the commercial would have focused on the car a bit more than the reveal at the end then it would have been fine. |
Re: Singing in the Rain Remix
The most entertaining commercials, I've found, don't focus on the product till the end. A commercial can either be an entertaining mini-movie or go out of the way to get the product into your head screaming "Lysol" again and again with the word flashing on screen. Commercials don't just sell the product...they sell the ideas surrounding it to appeal to a certain group.
Look at Scion. Some of those cars look like every other car out there. Yet the commercials (while they are showing the car the entire time) create a different feel about the cars separating them from everything else out there. If you look at the other work that group has done...they've done a couple commercials...but mostly short weird films. They got me to watch the Singing in the Rain commercial at least 100 times. That's something. |
