I never even heard of this comic before, but damn does that look like a pretty interesting movie. |
Re: Sin City Trailer
Lots of cool star appearances in the trailer. Interesting art design too. ^_^

Re: Sin City Trailer
I just officially nut myself...
You don't understand. Frank Miller's Sin City is probably the single greatest comic/graphic novel I've ever read. I hold it above even the legendary Watchmen series. And the whole time I read his books all I could say to myself is how great a movie this would make. The art in the books is pure cinematic genius and beautiful film noire. I can't recomend them any more highly. If you haven't read them... READ THEM. The first is the best. The movie version looks AMAZING. They've kept true, to the point of being almost indentical even in the purposeful choice of color, to the books. My only criticism is that it looks like they're combining several of Miller's Sin City graphic novels into one movie. I hope they can pull it off effectively as a single film. EDIT: I have to watch that trailer again. DAMN. |
Re: Sin City Trailer
Is there any actor alive who is NOT in that movie?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. I generally like Frank Miller (except for The Dark Knight Strikes Back) and sometimes love his work (Elektra: Assassin and The Dark Knight Returns...ironically). I hear the movie will lift his dialogue almost verbatim. That's a good thing in my book. And I like the style. I think it will probably be off-putting to mainstream audiences which is a pity, but it's a good touch. I also like Robert Rodriguez. He's got style in spades. I wonder if he's doing every job under the sun this time as well (for Once Upon a Time in Mexico, he directed, wrote, executive-produced, edited, physically held the camera and wrote the musical score). |
Re: Sin City Trailer
Rodriguez is actually co-directing it with the one and only Frank Miller. Thats why I think that the movie is so true to the books.
And Xantar, I highly recommend getting the books in question that this movie is based on. They are the original Sin City, The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard. |
Re: Sin City Trailer
maybe it's just me but it looks like just another old-schol mafia movie

Re: Sin City Trailer
Well considering that one of its main characters is horrifically ugly and has borderline superhuman strength, one of the villians is literally YELLOW and there is a female ninja with a swastika throwing star... I think its safe to say its just you. :D
