Trillian Messenger System
 

Does anyone here use trillian?

It can combine Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, and IRC.

I just started using it, but I was wondering if there was a way to add voice, web cam, or other cool features to it? Not that it really matters but you know, it would be cool.

a few people use it here...i don't like it much because i dont use AIM, ICQ or anything other than MSN for that matter...and as far as i know...trillion doesnt have webcam/mic support...but that's just me

think i've seen plugins for thoes features. but i think you need trillian pro for plugins.

I had Trillian when MSN wasnt working, but i soon realized i like, never use AIM.....so it serves no purpse to me.

I don't need it either. Everybody in Holland uses MSN. :p

Pretty funny how everybody switched from ICQ to MSN in like 1 year. :confused:
Probably cause of the M$ monopoly (windows messenger embedded in windows).

I did about two years ago, but there's no Direct Connecting for AIM. So I dropped it.

I used Trillian for a year, but then I realized it sucked.

I don't think most people really use more than two messengers at a time anyways.

I use and love trillian...currently running 3.0.

I use aim because most ppl i kno in person use that. I use msn because it seems everyone i know online uses that. Meta contacts are alos nice for people that have aim and msn..you can group them into one buddy. It allows me to have multiple sn's of either messenger, that way i can have a aim for my friends and an aim for my family or for any other use you can think of.

I use yahoo so it that it checks and notifies me of email. I have gmail plugin to check and notify me of my gmails. There is also a pop3 mail checker. I have a music plugin so i can type a command and display in an im whatever song i'm currently listening to. Um...lots of other plugins.

Oh, the fact that it saves your logs are awesome. I could open up the history on one of my friends ims and search for something from 2 years ago and it would find it. Can be useful in arguments..."you said this bitch....trillian proves it!" er...ya :P

Events: These are cool. Say um..i wanted to have my buddy list turn an away message on (one that i specify) after say...i've been idle 5 min (i forget to not put it on and leave a lot). Easy, set an event. Um..you can set events for most anything...

I would definately have to disagree with you that trillian sucks. Its extremely customizable and the gui is better than any other messenger imo. I've had to use aim a few times since i've switched to trillian and i wanted to throw up at its big and fugly gui. And don't even bother to compare its gui to any linux messenger.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot...i love that i can have an away message on but still talk to people i choose without it turning back off. Great for avoiding ppl you don't want to talk to :D

Double EDIT: Whoops, forgot to say i love the emoticons ok lol, i'm done.

Anyways.....thought i'd take some screenies :D Hopefully none of you are stalkers...

The buddy list (currently have default skin although trillian has plenty of good skins..i'm just lazy)

I used to have a DeadAIM crack, that was the best.

But then I ralized that piracy was wrong. Or it stopped working. I forget.
