Do you agree with the jury's verdict? What is your opinion on Scott Peterson and the Laci murder?

Edit: Also, since the verdict is guilty, do you think death or life in prison should be the sentence?

I think it's stupid that the media picked this story out of a bajillion other ones to shove into the spotlight...

And because of that it basically made it impossible for him to have a fair trial, I believe... Not that I think he's innocent, but in the case that he was, everyone who sees the story on the news is bloodthirsty... THIRSTY FOR PETERSON BLOOD!

And if he had been found innocent, nobody would buy it and we'd have another OJ on our hands... "They found him not guilty, but he obviously is!"...

I mean how often do you get a huge crowd of strangers gathered outside the courthouse waiting for the verdict? And then erupting into a fit of cheering once he's been found guilty?

I think the whole thing is silly... Especially the murder part, that never happened... That Lacy corpse is made of ply-wood... And besides, just because her body was found near the place he was fishing doesn't mean he killed her... Havn't any of you seen that TGI Friday (or is it Ruby Tuesday?) commercial? It was just the place to be...

I agree with some of the things DH said.

But that's the western justice system...

I hate it how so many people say that OJ Simpson is a murderer without knowing a damn thing about the case. Same thing with Michael Jackson...he's accused of sexually molesting children. Well CLEARLY he's guilty. :rolleyes:

I'm not saying that OJ Simpson is innocent of murder or that Michael Jackson didnt molest children, because I wouldnt know. OJ Simpson WAS found not guilty, that's the only true fact I know.

Peterson may have very well murdered his wife...if I was a betting man, I'd say that he did. There must be substantial evidence against him in order for the court to find him guilty. But I wont pretend to KNOW that he did, not for a second.

I could care less about this. I dont understand the reason they chose this story out of the number DH mentioned. Fry his ass. I dont care. He doesnt affect my life so I don't care whats dont to him.

How can he be convicted of 2nd degree murder of an unborn child.

Wouldn't this set a precedent for abortions to be illegal?

I think it is pathetic that we can focus on one case for so long. Think of the thousands of people that have been murdered since the trial first came about.

I'm not trying to start an arguement.

I'm just asking how this can be. Basically, the judge has ruled that if you kill a baby while in mother's womb, then it's murder.


Huge precedent.

it's been debated over sooo much, and you're absolutely right by questioning the concept but that's just the way it is. I shouldnt have jumped on you like that (I didnt mean to) but that whole issue has been beaten to death. personally, I'm against abortion.
