Pacific Rim

My most anticipated movie for quite some time. First poster.

That's a big robot.

And earlier pic of Idris Elba in costume.

I knew nothing about this until right now when I saw this, looked it up on wikipedia.

I love Japanese giant monsters vs giant robot movies. Secretly its my favourite genre, and I am so pumped for this movie now.

Only six months.
only six months.
*rocks back and forth*

Finally, we can get the proper Transformers/Power Rangers movie we all craved.

Its a good thing GLaDOS is helping fight the monsters, she can kill them with deadly neurotoxins.

Re: Pacific Rim

That was the cherry on the top for me.

Kind of Half-Lifey no? Portal to an alien dimension.

This looks incredible. It's like Lovecraft wrote an episode of Gundam Wing.

Re: Pacific Rim

The inclusion of GLaDOS is the biggest reason for me to watch this movie. Friggin' epic. :D

Oh and did you guys see The Mist (Stephen King)? It also featured monsters coming from a portal.

Someone cut the trailer to the Power Rangers theme
Solid idea.. I would have cut it differently to make it work better

I so can't wait for this movie!

Re: Pacific Rim

While it looks awesome, I'm hesitant about most of the fights being at night and in the rain. That's what Godzilla 1998 did to hide its flaws.

Reminds me of the old SNES Super Scope game, Battle Clash and its sequel.

Woaha, they actually built the cockpit? :D

Re: Pacific Rim

Am I the only one who thinks this looks fucking terrible? Just logically, the idea of building super robots makes no sense when fight giant monsters. I can't get past the stupidity of the concept...

Re: Pacific Rim

I've enjoyed enough mecha anime to know I don't care how stupid it is.

Re: Pacific Rim

Well this ended up being amazing. It's way more cool to go back now and look at all those prerelease Jaeger posters after seeing them in action in the movie.

They have also pretty much confirmed a sequel, so that's exciting. I would also be interested in watching a prequel set in this universe, to see some of the different jaegers.

Yeah, the movie had it's fair share of bad acting and dialogue, and a few plot points that didn't make a lot of sense, but overall the story was good enough and the dialogue cheesy in a way that I enjoyed.

I've seen enough stupid action movies that I hated to know when one is bad and one isn't. Iron Man 2 is a bad-stupid action movie. So is Transformers 3. This was a good-stupid action movie.

The dialogue may have not been great, but there is some element to each of the characters that makes them likable and entertaining to watch. Raleigh is different from most stupid action movie stars because he's actually very emotional and in tune with every other characters emotions.

Did anyone else see the post-credits scene? Pretty hilarious.

I'm actually content if this remains a one and done film.

And yeah post-credit sequence was great
