He's Back: Arnie Set to Star in The Terminator

I mean why the hell not?

EXCLUSIVE: He's back. Arnold Schwarzenegger is attached to star in a rights package that CAA is shopping today that will revive The Terminator, one of Hollywood's most iconic science fiction franchises. The agency is dropping the package on studios this afternoon. There is no screenwriter attached at this point, and Robert Cort is producing. This is the first real activity on The Terminator project since February 2010, when the property emerged from a bankruptcy auction and into the possession of Pacificor. The Santa Barbara-based hedge fund posted a bid of $29.5 million, with the promise that additional multimillion-dollar payments for each film would go to Halcyon, the company that made the 2009 McG-directed Terminator Salvation.

I cannot begin to express my happiness right now.

I mean, ever since Arnold finished being governor, I've been hoping, nay, praying, that he'd do some more movies.

It's awesome to hear that my favorite actor ever could be coming back.

How will they explain how a cyborg keeps getting older even though it is sent back in time from the same point in the future?

"I'll be back... after I grab an Ensure..."

Skynet manufactures the skin that goes on the cyborg. They just have to come up with a reason for skynet to want the cyborg to look like an older version of the original.

I just realized how awesome it would be if Arnold had a role, even if it's small, in the sequel to Predators (the Adrian Brody movie, which they've already pretty much confirmed they are doing). His age would actually fit the timeline, as Predators takes place several years after the original Predator (Arnold's character is even referenced in the movie).

They should just make an Alien vs. Predator vs. Terminator movie and call it a day.

On that note, where do you go with a Terminator movie?

Maybe an end to the war? That would be pretty cool to see.

They made a huge mistake when they took Terminator past Judgement Day. What made Terminator 1 and 2 so terrifying was that it was future technology in our normal every day lives. And the threat of Judgement Day was more frightening than being past that and seeing the world in ruins.

So I'm hoping that they'll take make some sort of prequel to Terminator 3.
Or possibly an alternative timeline, like in The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
