Reminds me of this. There was a point where this was my favorite song ever. Haha, it's pretty silly now.

Gonna have to give Mr. Metal Face another listen. Only know him from Danger Doom and not having watched much Adult Swim it didn't do it for me.

A band with accordion, glockenspiel, and theremin? I think I'm in love. (Music starts a minute in.)

Same here. :(

Played a lot of the sequel. Probably my favorite Mario game.

Detektivbyrån sounds great by the way, thanks! Reminded me of Yann Tiersen.

Thought of Tiersen as well.

Nice, Tegan and Sara are good. Love their (first?) CD.
So with this song, I couldn't help adding "before I even met you" after "I feel you in my bones".

I actually really prefer this to the Aerosmith version, they make it bearable.

Re: Musical YouTubes: Our tubes are filled with music!

So this is one of those WTF happened moments as I was just made aware of the existence of video number 2:

MC5 - Kick out the Jams

MC5, I appreciate you.

I mean... Well I guess it's not terrible or anything, but I mean look at the way he looks. I'm guessing this was recorded late 80s and MC5 was like mid 60s-mid 70s. Seriously though he's decked out hardcore 80s? I don't understand why he would do that...

haha I don't understand things sometimes.

And also just to lighten the mood:

This is Julia Nunes. She's awesome. I know her voice isn't the greatest, but she has an assload of personality, and she makes ukulele fun.

TheSlyMoogle 02-27-2010 08:45 AM

Re: Musical YouTubes: Our tubes are filled with music!

Sorry for the double post but...

Fuck it More songs I like and reasons why:

I remember riding in the car with my friend carrie, and she was blaring this song with 4 other people in the car on the way to the bar. I was all turn this shit off, time for pop music. At the end of the night all I could think about was a line from this song over and over we're on an island on The fourth of July, looks like the tide is going home. I don't know why either. Bar timez.

Uhm, I always respected bluegrass music, never particularly cared for it, but respect. I was at some party or whatever, and this song came on, and like everyone stopped and started singing it. I sorta listened to the lyrics and was like "Oh this is kinda new age bluegrass or some weird shit" I've liked the song ever since I guess.

I spent the summer of like 2007 jamming out to this album and going to the lake daily for swimming and kicking ass... err mostly just swimming. Nothing will beat the 20 minute drive to the lake with this album blaring. One of the few joys of living in Rural America.

I just have always loved this song, definitely one of my top 10 favorite songs. It reminds me of the days before iPods and MP3 players, and I was burning CDs for travel or friends. In the back of my head I only had 18 songs, and I this was on way too many mixes to be healthy.

i'm not sure if anyone else had previously posted this, but if they did, smart thinking. this is probably my favorite song, ever. it has the power to bring me to my knees by the picture's it paints in my head, and at the same time pick me up higher than i was before. nonetheless, it's a great song.

this next song comes from a band by the name of 7 Angels 7 Plagues, whom in my honest opinion, were at the forefront of the new "hardcore" wave back in the early 2000's. sadly, they've broken up and reunited, and broke up since. this has to be one of my favorite, if not my favorite song by them. it's a completely instrumental track. lovely song.

Welcome back Krypton. I like that first song.

Speaking of favorite songs. Been revisiting Yoko Kanno.

Yeah Explosions in the Sky is an amazing band. In fact if you've ever seen "Friday Night Lights" they did all the music.

They're pretty much awesome.

So I find this hilarious:

First the real video and song:

Next the Jabba the Hut version:

BAHAHAHAHAHA Enjoy.

thank you Teuthida, you seem to always be the one whom notices when i leave, and come back. so thank you. and yes i have saw that movie Sly, in fact because of how wonderful the soundtrack goes along with the movie, it has a lot more meaning than just another sports story to me. that's when i began listening to that band, and since have become a big fan.

i honestly don't know how i stumble upon some of the artists/groups i listen to, but this band (Future of Forestry) is a gem in my eye. i can't recall where or how i had found out about this band, maybe randomly searching online, but this song is what did it for me. ever since i've become quite fond of their music (which is supposedly christian related.. i'm not a fan of religious music, or religion, but whatever they do, they do it well).

Quote:

Remember all the fires we started:
our Aspirations for progression.
We feed the burning for a better day,
don't let your selfishness extinguish the flame.
speaks for itself. if you're a fan of metalcore, i suggest checking this band out. not only are they very talented, but the meaningful time and effort they put into their songs can be easily seen.

Don't worry I'm sure she gets it worse in school.

"i reside in VA, ride in VA, most likely when i die, i'm gon' die in VA"
Clipse, one of the forefathers of "cocaine rap" coincidentally, they do it the best. with their tales of paranoia, yet glossy lifestyle. a classic from the year 2002.

done by a student at Michigan State University (whom was actually on Jeopardy) remixed "Empire State of Mind" made famous by Jay-Z & Alicia Keys as an ode to Detroit and Michigan (where i reside) as a whole, quite a nice track i think.

Music made with a Game Boy. I'd give this a try if I had any music skills and didn't always have so many problems with GB roms.

I met her at Youtube Live! She was very nice. I feel like I have to submit my brother to combat her on the ukulele though because he's very cool as well.
