At the bottom of GT's home forum page a shoutbox should now appear in both styles. It's just meant for random chat and everything not worthy of a full post.

Yeah, but it was on another page and everyone had to be online at the same time to chat.

Make sure you register your name in the shoutbox, or else anyone is free to assume your identity. GM :rolleyes:

I like the shoutbox, but holy pop up ads! I updated my adblock plus but it seems a little excessive.

The shoutbox produces pop-ups? I haven't gotten any on Safari so far. I'll look into it.

I've noted it both at work (IE) and at home (Firefox, prior to updating Adblock Plus).

It doesn't look like there's a whole lot I can do. If enough people get pop-ups we can switch to another Shoutbox.

It doesn't really matter now that I've switched to a different ad blocking solution. I'm just neurotic about pop-ups. :p

I enjoyed the whimsical woes of the shout box. If we are still going with the whole tavern metaphor the shoutbox was like the speakeasy in the back that only the cool people anonymously got invited to.
