The Merc With a Mouth Gets a Movie

A spinoff of a spinoff, awesome. :p

And more from

Fox is also in the formative stages of a "Wolverine" sequel that will encompass the samurai storyline that was hinted at as Wolverine sat in a bar in Japan as the film concluded (Daily Variety, May 4).

Separately, Fox is developing "Magneto," a film about the X-Men villain with a script by Shelton Turner, and "X-Men: First Class," which Josh Schwartz is penning.

Too much X-men.

Spin-offs of spin-offs now...these guys are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for money. Wolverine didn't even get that great of reviews...

If you are going to do an origin movie, make it story-based with heavy emphasis on the characters discovering/exploring their powers. The reason Spider-Man, Iron Man, Batman Begins, and the new Hulk movies were fun was because they dealt with the protagonists discovering and dealing with their powers.

Rottentomatoes tells the story like it is though, for every good Marvel-based comic movie there are 3 or 4 crappy ones.

Marvel really needs to buy back the rights from Fox. They are destroying the material.

The thing that gets me is when characters are 'changed' to suit a film. With Wolverine for example, his power is Regeneration/Healing NOT the claws that come out of his hands, and in the trailer a child wolverine has bony claws that come out of his hands. Now I have not seen the movie, so there may be a reason for this but

WTF I thought to myself :wtf: Now dont get me wrong, I am all for new stories and new ideas but some things should not be changed. It's like if there was a new Spiderman movie and he came out in a green jump suit or could shoot lazer beams from his eyes and they pretended it's always been like that. I dont like it when they defficate on pre existing guidelines, it just makes me think it's shit. Imagine if Batman suddenly actually had super powers, it would just be wrong.

My only other rant, and FTR I am glad they are introducing the character Gambit. It's about bloody time. But why, oh why, have him acted by some ponse, Gambit is cool and I feel the actor playing him will make him seem crap. Gambit's power is that he can make things explode, he just uses the cards to emphasise that and he is a kendo master. I hope they dont screw him up.

Actually bone claws have been part of Wolverine's history for quite some time.

There is even a bone claw Wolverine in Marvel vs Capcom 2.

And the famous story where Magneto rips all the adamtinum out of Wolverine.

So Deadpool shoots lasers out of his eyes, and people somehow just mention Wolverine's bone claws?

That movie was bad so so bad.

Have I stated the fact that a Deadpool movie would be awesome?

No?

A deadpool movie would be awesome.

By far one of the best characters for a movie.

He has regenerating powers beyond Wolverine, is comedic, and is the only character who breaks the fourth wall.
