MSN

Who here uses it?

And also who here has seen mega problems with it lately?

Like, right now, im signed in on MSN, and i cant talk to anyone. I can see them online, but my messages cant be sent.

And the other day it was like this too, except I signed in on e-messenger, (Not a download) and not one person of my 67 people were online. Not a one. Which is complete BS.

And right now, its taking 5 minutes to sign me in, only to tell me it cant sign me in.

And this isnt really a computer problem or question....but meh, move it if you shall.

They have been doing maintenece to fix certain problems with their network maybe it's at fault ?

Re: MSN

Yeah, I was having the same problem earlier.

It was like...super lagged. When I would sign in, it would show everyone currently online sign in at the same time on my MSN...there is no way that actually happened.

Here meaning down the street from my house? lol.

I think they have to be doing something to it...i guess.

Stupid messenger has to be non-reliant.

You never know how big of a role something plays in social interaction until you have to be without it for a while.

Dyne 10-10-2004 09:26 PM

Re: MSN

So finally other people start having these damn problems.

I had them a month ago. I was in University meetings in MSN, and eventually some of the messages I tried to send became "Could not send message to all recipients." Eventually, the longer I stayed logged in, the less messages I could send.

Now I appear to be fine after Friday night's maintenance and everybody else is screwed.

GameMaster 10-10-2004 11:29 PM

Re: MSN

Isn't working for me either, and it's quite unacceptable that a company so large and powerful can't fix the issue more quickly. I don't think I've ever had an AIM problem, not that I can remember anyways. I guess AOL is still the best for IMing.

*shrugs and walks away*

Yeah, it has been pretty messed up for me. Oh well, there is always that thing... what do people call it... talafone? I dunno, somehting like that.

maybe but talking to people over msn seems so much more comfortable and less....akward.

........Rumours are flying. Flying high.

Rumours of MSN Messenger being shut down.

Maybe we are in the shut down phase? Like when you get tranquilized, you slowly go numb. Maybe this is the numbing stage.

Perhaps lack of MSN has made me crazy and paranoid. Whos to say.

WHATS THE FREQUENCY KENNETH!?!??!

(+ reps if you know what that means, and what its from)

Re: MSN

It's from the 1994 based song by R.E.M. about a man who attacked Dan Rather, popular CBS news anchor. The man thought the station was beaming their signal to his head and he thought if he could find the frequency he could block them from beaming it to him. So after punching Dan to the ground and kicking him, the attacker asked, "What's the frequency Kenneth?"

Typhoid 10-11-2004 12:58 AM

Re: MSN

Good job. I love that song.

Your reps shall arrive shortly.

Joeiss 10-11-2004 01:49 AM

Re: MSN

I knew that too. But he posted before me.

On a side note, my internet has been running freakishly fast, and I just downloaded about 60 songs. Nice.

Now what? I can't log in, while the help function says their network is just fine. :(

Re: MSN

Well, I never really had any problem using it. I'm using Trillian though, maybe that why I'm not having troubles?

Xantar 10-11-2004 01:28 PM

Re: MSN

Huh. I thought I was having problems just because I'm on a Mac. Guess that's not the explanation after all.

But then I started using Fire (it's a Trillian type application for Macs), and I haven't had a problem with MSN 95% of the time. Of course, that still means I have connection issues 5% of the time which is much more than I ever do with AIM.

Good thing iChat uses AIM.

Re: MSN

trillion is a program that has ICQ, AIM and MSN built into it...so a 3-in-1 IMing program...

Re: MSN

MSN is working.

I have trillian now, i must say, it is good...but I only have people on MSN and AIM, so its not like im missing out on much.

Plus in a convo via MSN/Trillian between me and h-dude, apparently MSN plus is not supported on Trillian, and Trillian also has no audio/visual support.

EDIT: MSN isnt working now....wth.....

EDIT EDIT: MSN is working again.

At least their inconsistency is consistant.

Null 10-11-2004 03:56 PM

Re: MSN

Why do people always assume programs dont do this or that just cuz its not there when they download it?
you can get a plugin for msn plus stuff. and im not sure what visual/audio things you're talkin about, but theres other plugins with visual and audio things for trillian.

Hm, you're on the MSN network?
Let me hereby express my interest in adding you to my list.

... not like I'm gonna bother you all day or something.

did I sound pathetic?

Trillian is a RAM hog.

MSN is working fine again. I got kicked off last night and they did more maintenance.

Yoda9864 10-12-2004 02:12 PM

Re: MSN

Trillian isn't too much of a RAM hog. Not too much more than AIM or MSN I don't think. Of course, I don't really care considering I have 1+ gbs of RAM, lol.

lol. exactly how i look at things too.

But i looked, and all 4 seemed to use the same amount of ram roughly.

Re: MSN

Meh. I have Trillian installed on my computer but im not using it. I guess I'll save it for when MSN decides to be an anus monger again.
