PSP in action
IMO, impressive, if i were to get one it would prolly be this over the DS, has more of a console feel, but does stuff besides games that i'd like. Main thing is the Huge ass wide screen on it. i love that screen.
But i doubt i'd get it, ever handheld i've ever got just sits around. Anywho, for thoes who are interested.... http://www.wirelesswatch.jp/vdo/110hb.wmv |
Re: PSP in action
Very nice screen indeed. I think if I were to get one of the new handhelds, it'd be this, just cause it's more my style, I guess. But I doubt I'll get any.

Re: PSP in action
Right click the link and hit save as. Save it, then open it
|
Re: PSP in action
Or, copy the url, open up a media player, and paste the url into the url bar.
Looks nice. Not even considering getting either though. |
Re: PSP in action
sorry. i thought by now most knew to right click save as. hehe.
|
Re: PSP in action
Nice, but it looks kinda clumbsy. Like holding an oversized GameBoy.
Compare it to those gigantic computer mouses that aren't really mouses.... :p |
Re: PSP in action
hehe. its actually a pretty good size, thinner than DS, but not too much longer.
both DS and PSP are good size IMO, because i hate the size of the GBA SP and the other game boys too short from left to right. i dont like holding my hands together, like a bit of space between em. |
Re: PSP in action
too slow, guess it doenst' work anymore.
|
Re: PSP in action
its workin. just really really slow now.
i saw try tomorrow if not oh well, damn .jp sites :p |
Re: PSP in action
PSP's official price point? Word on the street suggests it will retail for more than expected.
Mentioned at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony has un-officially announced a price of $349.99 for the handheld. This further suggests many previous guesses that the PlayStation Portable would be at least $300 at launch, and more than double the price of the Nintendo DS. No software has yet been announced to launch alongside the system, but the price is likely to have been influenced by the MP3 player and DVD player functionality of the portable system. While this is NOT officially announced by Sony as previously thought (our appologies), rest assure as we will bring you the latest. Stay tuned to Advanced Media for the upcoming expansion, complete coverage of the PlayStation Portable. |
Re: PSP in action
rumors amuse me. hehe
the DVD fuctionality they mention is just the movies on its own disc format isnt it? |
Re: PSP in action
I believe all forms of media for the PSP will be in HMD(not sure what that means though)
I would get this handheld but I don't think I could afford it. :( EDIT:Score, 400 posts. |
Re: PSP in action
if the PSP is $300+, there is no way in hell I'll be buying one, unless it drops in price significantly (I know it does at a lot, but $300 USD alone is nearly $400 CAD, no god damn way in hell will I pay that).

Re: PSP in action
Thats too expensive to pay for a handheld. Waaaaay too expensive. I wouldnt buy it, even if i have been looking foreward to it, just because it will be like, $700 cdn. Do you know what you can buy for $700? A TV....a stereo, and a PStwo to go with your shiney new TV and stereo.
(And i think Deejz meant UMD, because the "H" and the "U" are right next to eachother.) |
Re: PSP in action
it has no official price. show me the CDN$700 price tag you saw in stores.
I wont be buying the thing right when it comes out no matter what the price is...but the fact of the matter is, IT HAS NO PRICE. the only thing you can safely assume is that it will be more expensive than the Nintendo DS, and that's because of its advanced tech. |

Re: PSP in action
Wow hehe. I'm glad Nintendo is targeting a much bigger audience again. :D
I think I know how this will go. PSP will have a reaaaaaaaally slow start, but as long as good games are coming out for the thing, people will eventually get it, perhaps after a few price drops. But Sony will lose money on it, I think... |
Re: PSP in action
actually i think sony is targeting the bigger audience, and by the how it looks, people are excited about it and it will prolly have quite a good start.
i cant say anything on price drops tho considering we dont even know a price :p |

Re: PSP in action
Well.... considering that the GameBoy is the best sold console ever...
Youngsters can't just buy an expensive handheld (they spend everything on phones these days :mad2: ), parents won't buy such a pricy thing for their kids, so that only leaves 20-40 or something. Right right right? |

If I get either of the handhelds, the DS will deffinatly be the one I go for. The two screens is innovative, and they already have a huge list of software and there are quite a few of them I am interested in. Not to mention I can actually afford this one. |
Re: PSP in action
I didn't realise it was so big.
|
Re: PSP in action
just watched a few videos of the PSP
DAMN that screen is sexy. |

Re: PSP in action
Nice screen but I'm waiting a few price drops before considering it.
|
Re: PSP in action
Maybe the screen is too big...?
Anyway... the PSP looks pretty... but whatever... |
Re: PSP in action
the psp is a bit smaller and thinner than the DS that was at last E3. The new DS model might be a little different in that regard, but either way the two handhelds are basically the same size all around.

Well most companies lose money on hardware when they first launch a new system, but the money they lose with hardware they try to gain with the software. I think the PSP will sell quite well, Nintendo had better keep a close I eye on the handheld market. Hmmmmmm............I think DS can bet PSP in the long run if Nintendo just markets it right and sells the idea of the two screens to the people. |
Re: PSP in action
I don't think its selling the 2 screen idea to the people that matters as much, but more so as selling it to the developers of games. I just think too many developers might be too lazy to see how X game can work with 2 screens. But hey, this is a PSP thread. I'll leave my reply stopped there.
