Something you Miss.

What's something you miss?

Not a deceased relative or pet. Like something you miss.

For example:

This store used to have these frozen pretzel things. They don't have them anymore, but I used to get them and cover them in e-z Cheese. Which is a weird canned , processed cheese thing. They were great, but the store stopped carrying the product. Man I miss those.

Yeah something like that.

So What do you miss?

I miss when kids didnt act like little thugs.

Now most of them act all "hardcore" and stuff, like they are all in gangs.

So i miss the days when an 8 year old wouldnt mouth off a guy more than twice his age.

Too bad its illegal to hit them.

EDIT: I also miss the slurpee machine they used to have at my corner store. Good thing its gone though, because George is awesome and sometimes gives me discounts.

I miss the old prices of everything. Everything has gone up so much.

And I know this one doesn't really apply to me yet but still it sucks. I miss the old driving liscense rules. Now we have the way that takes like years.

I miss Tropical Sprite Remix, but since that is fairly recent guess it doesn't count.

I mean the days when you use to come home from school and had the chance to choose between watching Fox's cartoon (Spiderman,Batman, X-Men, Bobby World, Life with Louie, Eek the Cat, etc...) and the Disney Afternoon (Aladdin, Lion King, Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Ducktales, etc).

I miss when Power Rangers was good... Yes, Power Rangers ha d a "good" period.

I miss when wrestling was can't miss TV, now it's "O man it's on, now?"

I miss my elementary school days when I was just a kid, life was good. Recess, summers that seemed to last forever, all those great shows and cartoons that Ace and BreakABone mentioned. I guess being a kid in the early 90's is what I miss most. Oh, can't forget the classic video games of those times either, I miss them.

Crono 08-16-2004 04:03 PM

Re: Something you Miss.

Mine are pretty much the same as GM's. Also I miss the summers when I used to go up to my camp like every second week, now I'll be lucky if I go camping 5 times a year. I've only been up there once this summer.

Oh well, times change...

i miss camping near mammoth caves, and staying at "jellystone park" where everything is themed like yogi bear! they had this awesome 50's type soda shoppe, and a huge haunted house, and a wax museum that i remember freaked me out.

i miss not worrying about anything, and thinking my milkshake brought all of the boys to the yard, because i was in 2nd grade, and i had aladdin underwear. lol, hell yea.

I miss those also (about 95% of them)

BUT if you have digital cable or sattelite, Nicktoons can supply Rocko, Ahh Real Monsters and Angry Beavers (I watch them everyday from 1pm-4pm central time) ahh at 1pm, rocko at 2, beavers at 3 :D

And if you have Toon Disney, you can catch darkwing duck, goof troop, etc..

Not sure on shows like Camp Anawana and Pete and Pete..not sure if Nickelodeon has them on anymore

And the old Nickelodeon game shows. Legends of the hidden temple is the best and I still watch it quite often..along with figure it out and a few others.

I believe that Pete and Pete comes on the N which is on digital cable as well.

And I believe the proper name of Camp Anawana atleast here in the States was "Salute Your Shorts" now that was a sweet show.

Costco sold frozen Jamaican Beef PattieS?

Now were these good patties or did they taste funny?

I find that most store brought beef patties don't taste that great, I like the ones from Golden Krust, and some from the pizzeria are acquired taste, and I love baby patties. :D

Why would I mention them if they tasted funny? O_o

They tasted AWESOME. They were a great alternative to Pizza Pops. Though, now I've found a good burrito brand.

I miss two years ago during the gas price war in Vancouver when gas was as low as $0.27 a litre. I miss that. Now its like, $0.97 a litre. Thats no fair.

I miss some of my friends from elementary school. We had so much fun together and were practically inseperatable. We played pokemon every day during recess, and called each other every night while we played OoT.

After middle school started we grew apart, and I dont talk to either of them any more. I havnt had a class with either one since then, and one of them is a burnout/stoner now. It's very sad when I think back to what we do when we were kids and then look at him now.

I also miss Animorphs. I used to buy the new one every month and have almost all of it read before I got home.

I miss all those great cartoons too, the one I miss the most is Gargoyles. I would give a lot of things for the original creator of it to come back and start doing it again. Stupid disney for chasing him off.

I miss Buffy too. I loved that show.

I also miss back in the day when video games were great. Not just good...but truely great.

I miss various Nick shows that I used to watch after school (most of them have already been named).

I miss the days when it only took me one to two hours to do ALL of my homework.

I miss living in Germany and all the good food there.

I miss the mickey ice cream pops.

I miss the days when gas was less than $1 per gallon. Come to think of it, I miss the days when it was $1.50 per gal

0.27 a litre? Are you sure? o.O

Two years ago the good proces were in the 60s, highest was like 75 cents. But... 27 cents? Sounds like the 60s or 70s to me.

Well, if you actually READ what i wrote, i said the gas war in Vancouver, and you my friend, dont live in Vancouver. The prices were as low as 27 cents 2 years ago. ( the lowest it got was 27 cents, and it was like that for a day or two, but it mainly hovered in the late 30's early 40's.)

Dont tell me im wrong when i live here.

Thank you, and good day.

EDIT: I also miss when people wernt so uptight and politically correct about everything. That makes me mad now. You cant even say "Indian" because its racist. well, what of the baseball team then, huh?

I miss the Opryland amusement park in Nashville Tennissee. They tore it down in 97 to build a shopping mall. Very sad really, it was such a nice park.

I didn't say you were wrong, ass. I was just saying.. 27 is pretty damned low. You guys were lucky.

Also I miss when online communities were cool and not overrun by n00bs (vampyr knows what I'm talking about) who spammed. Read: pre-Typhoid GameTavern.

You can say Indian without being racist... when referring to someone who's from India. They're Indian. The only reason why we refer "Natives" as "Indians" is because whoever the dumbass who saw them first thought he was in India, when really it was north America.

Why don't you ask a Native person if they like being called Indian? It' offensive.

LOL... i like how you snuck in "ass" it was classy and funny.

And what im doing isnt reeally spamming. And i doubt im a "n00b" ( as you put it) anymore, maybe i am, its no big deal to me.

And im part "Native American" ( 1/8 or something, but it still counts :p ) and i could care less, honestly. I was making a connection to it and political correctness.

And then according to you, the Cleveland Indians should change their logo, becauise it doesnt depict an Indian from India, its a Native American.

And that "Dumbass" was Columbus..

And i will ask a native person.

Typhoid: " Hey Sean, how do you like being called Indian"
Typhoid: " well Sean, i could care less"

Done and Done.

Now if someone called a Native American a "Chug" or "Squat" I could see why its offensive then.

And yes, i relaise now you didnt say i was wrong. I read what you said wrong. I apologize good freind.

Re: Something you Miss.

I was only joking about the pre-Typhoid thing, really I could care less who posts here and what they post.

As for Natives, in modern times like these you still shouldnt call them Indians. I mean, you KNOW what an Indian is now, and you know what a Native American is... just call them Natives. That's what I do anyway. And you're only part Native, that doesn't count.

Speaking of hockey, I also miss the days when Canada had the Winnipeg Jets and Quebec Nordiques, and they were awesome teams. Instead of 6 crappy teams who've never won the cup in the past decade and probably won't win it again in NHL history.

Also I miss when the NHL wasnt filled with all these retarded new teams like Columbus, Atlanta, Minnesota (I know there was once a Minnesota... but still), among others. The NHL was better 10 years ago than what it is now.

Bite your toungue my friend.

The Canucks, do have the best chance out of any Canadian team to win the cup. The Canucks and Senators.

I predict, within the next 5 years, eitehr the Canucks or the Senators will have won a cup.

The reason i say the Canucks is because they have been getting increasingly better over the past 5 or 6 years. With the exception of last year in points, but we did win the division.

And the Sens have a good shot at it now too, with Hasek in net, although hes old, hes still good.

*cough*

Im done ranting.. ;)

The lowest I remember gas here was only 29 cents.

Nordique means "Northerner", or something close to it. Notice how the "house" is actually an igloo?

And the Nordiques kicked ass, they had Sakic (though he was still in his rookie years back then I believe), they also had Roy at one point, Mats Sundin.. others.
