I checked out the site the images came from and it looks like an independent project. They even have a link to fileplanet to download the demo of this.

The DS can do much better than this. Have you not seen the Metroid pictures, etc.? Don't assume a systems full technology from one single project. Its not even an offical project.

And I don't think this is a DS project... It looks more GBA. If it was a DS, there would be two screen would it not? And this is certainly comething the GBA can do.

i think it's cool, but is this the one that IGN was talking about? you think they'd report an independent project like this? either way, very cool guys, but why is it a "ds" project, when it could easily be a GBA.

that's one think i hope the real developers dont do. convert gba games to the ds with some crappy dual screen support just for the sake of the "new" system
