Gravy
I think that gravy deserves its own topic. I think I've mentioned a lot before that I think that Gravy = God. Anyway, what's your favorite type of Gravy? lol I suppose sauces and all of that count. I love the gravy that my mom makes on Thanksgiving. The best part is that she puts turkey grease in it, so it has a really good taste. Just thinking about Gravy is making it hard for me to think at all. I'm going to eat gravy tonight Woohoo!!! :D

Re: Gravy
Gravy is fantastic when consumed with french fries.
|
Re: Gravy
Yeah, I like putting it on the following:
• mash potatoes • stuffing • turkey • bread I just like normal brown colored gravy. Thick. |
Re: Gravy
I am not a fan of gravy... I would say I like putting it on Mashed potatoes, however I am not a fan of plain mashed potatoes, I prefer the four cheese kind which doesn't need gravy to taste good...
That is all... |
Re: Gravy
Gravy is best drank by itself just like soy sauce!!!!! I like brown gravy the most, and I HATE that white crap they try to pass off as gravy. there not fooling me the only REAL gravy is the brown stuff. IMO :D
|
Re: Gravy
I like sausage gravy.
|
Re: Gravy
I have just recently found a love for gravy (the pale-ish gray kind with pepper in it), particularly on biscuits and fried chicken.
:) *shrugs and walks away* |
Re: Gravy
I've never ever seen white gravy. I like the regular brown gravy, but especially on french fries....(or freedom fries) and on mashed potatoes. But i dont know how many of you have had this, but it is freakeshly good: Poutine. Awesome, for those of you who dont know, poutine is french/freedom fries with melted cheese and gravy.

Re: Gravy
I've never really liked gravy much either. Sometimes I'll put it on my mashed potatoes and chicken, but not always. What I prefer to do is take a spoon to the bottom of the dish that the chicken or turkey was cooked on...I scoop up any of the juice/grease that the chicken stewed in and put it on my chicken or potatoes, stuffing etc. It's very good.

Re: Gravy
Poutine
![]() Just kidding. He's just an ugly communist who secretly wants to take your American money and take away your freedom. (Although Bush would give him a good run for his money.) I bet he doesn't taste that great as well. ![]() This is the deal. Now, it's not 'real' poutine. But it's a good substitute for our American buddies. Although, I've been to 3 new york fries joints in the states and none of them had poutine on the menu. shame. |
Re: Gravy
Although in Russian it'd be Putin.. and not "Poutine".
And what's wrong with being a communist in disguise, who secretly wants to take over the world? |
Re: Gravy
Good old Vladmir Putin. :)
|
Re: Gravy
That picture does nothing for the terrific flavour of putin...i mean putine...you cant enjoy the deliciousness through a picture. Make some at home, its ver simple.
Step one: Cook French/Freedom Fries Step two: Obtain pre-made or make gravy Step three: Get cheese, im not sure which kind i think mozza and make little cheese cubes. Step 4: Plave the fries with gravy and cheese ) With cheese on top) in a microwavable contaner and microwave. Step five: Enjoy!! No this isnt one of those 'tinfoil in the microwave' things. But if you dont have access to it any other way, i say do it, thats what i do when im too lazy to go get some. |
Re: Gravy
The real Poutine uses curd. You know, from Curds and Whey.

Cheese curds make or break it. You can't use just any kind of cheese. Also, it helps if the fries are deep fried. If you're making it yourself though, I guess you'll just have to settle with MCain's. |

I just think it's ridiculous to start dissasociating with the French just because they didn't agree with the war. I mean, some people stopped serving French wine at their restaurants just to make their point. Sure, they're allowed to, but I think that it's a very silly point that they are making. That could be because I disagree with the war as well, but even then I think it's stupid. I don't care what the Hell the French think, but don't start renaming things or taking things off the menu for no reason...People actually started boycotting French's mustard, an American made product just because it had French in the name...Idiotic, in my opinion. |
Re: Gravy
Yeah, The Japanese didnt go in the war, why not get rid of sushi? Africa wasnt in. Russia? Etheopia? What about Sweeden? they didnt help. And im pretty sure nobody wants to ban hot blonde foreign chicks, or sweedish massages. And why not get rid of the french maids? You dont see people jumping to get rid of them.

My mistake, on the japan and "sweden" thing, but Africa is a country. South Africa. country. BAM. right there. And dont say "but africa isnt its name, the name is SOUTH Africa". America isnt a country either. The U.S. isnt a country. Its the United states of America. Its all semantics. :D :p |

Gravy has way too much fat in it. Not healthy. Eating it on everything... gross!
I sometimes make vegetarian gravy for with the potatoes. :) |
