Feedback/Recommendations

In the description of the Writer's Guild forum, it says that forum members feedback on the site belongs here. Ive realized that very little of that actually goes on in here, so I created a thread for it. Members can post their feedback (positive or negative) and recommendations for the website. Admins may take notice of it and try to improve the site how they see fit.

So start feedbacking!

Wow. Camfu is talking by saying things I have said in other threads. :wtf:

Even more hilarious is that he has a good idea. A page that contains a list of the most popular video games at the time would be kind of cool. Members could vote on it monthly and someone could keep the list updated.

Hm.... I don't really have anything to comment on the forum... but we could use some more threads that discuss news. :)

Happydude 03-12-2004 04:52 PM

or a thread or 2 to discuss the idea of Angrist switching to his old account...

I've been working on that. :p

And Jason and I were discussing the GBA forum that the GBA forum should be replaced by the "Portable Forum", that way there is a single place to discuss GBA, DS, PSP, N-Gage, and that Microsoft thing. Because all those other handhelds other than the GBA dont have a real official place they can be discussed, and the GBA forum isnt getting much action by itself.

Dyne 03-13-2004 06:43 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

There's absolutely nothing to discuss about any other handhelds right now...

When they're released, the new forum would be a consideration here most likely. Right now all we can do is speculate about hardware (and maybe some games), and that's easily done in the Dungeon.

Is there any way the edit button can be moved the other side of the post, on the left?

It is right next to the reply button, and because I wasnt paying attention, it caused quite the fiasco over in the PS2 forum. TheGame wrote a great review on FFXI, and I accidently edited it all away trying to reply.

You could probably change the color to red. It wouldn't mess with the theme too much since only the mods would see it that way. Or maybe, have the ever popular "Are you sure you want to do this?" popup.

Well, we deffinatly need something like that.

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Few requests.

First of all, I just wanted to make sure that the snow is going to be dissapearing from the front page when the homepage returns. If not, I think it should be removed. It's getting kind of old and I personally think it's springtime now.

Secondly, I assume someone is working on a new color scheme. I guess this would have to correspond to the homepage. But anyway, I just wanted to know if the colors would be changing anytime soon and if so, is there a place I could go that would allow me to play with the color scheme and maybe suggest one of my own?

And finally, did the box that used to say who had visited already today get taken out? I personally liked it.

I'm not sure if someone is working on a new scheme or not, but I personally hope so. I was never a fan of the blue and white theme. I liked that old red and black one we used to have. It felt MUCH more like a "tavern" then.

And yes, the snow needs to be removed now.

Also, I liked that "already visited" box too, that Jeepnut mentioned.

I have been waiting for vB3 gold to come out to attempt a new color scheme. Although I believe I made a retro color scheme and people preferred the current one.

Whenever you upgrade all of the settings revert back to default. So that and a few other things will have to be changed.

*watches Bond's avatar......*

*snaps back*

Oh, um. yeah. cool.

And yes, someone made a different color scheme a while back (it was red and black), and it seems as though half the people liked it, and half the people preferred the one we have now. But, If I remember correctly, wasnt there an option to switch between the two? If that's the case, having two theme's would be very very suave. The people who like this one could use it, and the people who like the other one can use it.

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Yeah, there should be Vampyr. We should make it so we can have a Retro theme and the Default theme and people can choose what they want in the User CP

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

I think it should be 100% cusomizable. So you could choose your own background colour, text colour etc. But i dont know how this would be accomplished.

I'll be adding back the hacks from time to time.

We have plans to bring more than one style for you to select from. I have one or two in mind but they may not be compatible yet with this latest version.

I recommend a 150 * 150 avatar limit.

That would be super!

Feel free to deny my awesome suggestion.

Yeah, i like it like it is too. 100 x 100 is a nice, clean, simple to find and create image. But, just because it's 150 x 150 doesnt mean you have to use all that space...so it wouldnt HURT us any...so why not? I wouldnt mind so much.

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

This forum is missing out on some truly awesome avatatars because of the 100 limit.

A trial period...and if you don't like how the size influences the look then it can all be switched back. !!

No need to increase the size limit, I can resize any avatar you have in mind.

Exactly. Just resize the 150x150 pics.

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Doesn't resizing .gif animations make it look messy? I'm not talking about a one frame avvy.

I can resize animated gifs also.

Jonbo298 05-14-2004 08:38 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Yeah, there are programs that can resize them. I did it with the stacy one, except I created the animated gif in a program and then resized it from there.

Neo 05-14-2004 08:51 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Can you set the rate at which the frames change? My avatar is a little too spastic.

GameMaster 05-15-2004 12:36 AM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

I made it a little slower.

Neo 05-15-2004 01:31 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

You sure? It looks the same from my end.

GameMaster 05-15-2004 01:36 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Well the framerate is a little slower but I'm not sure the spastic visual experience you're describing can be changed. Did you find this animation somewhere or capture it yourself.

Do you want me to make it slower?

Neo 05-15-2004 01:43 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

I didn't make it I stole it from someone. But yeah the animation is a lot faster than the way it appears on the actual opening credits for the show. The speed is closer to my old avatar, if you remember that.

GameMaster 05-15-2004 01:48 PM

Re: Feedback/Recommendations

Ok, here it is with half a second per frame.
