I'm sick and tired of switching partners like a cheap whore here in the General Forum, so I've decided to take the initiative this time and quit on BJW.

*gets serious*

No, actually, I've been planning this for a long time. The first thing you guys should know is that my retirement has nothing to do with recent events. It's all due to the unfortunate timing of another site. Give me a paragraph or two to explain (or just skip to the bottom if you really want to).

I have been a moderator here at GameTavern for almost a year now. Actually, I may have been a moderator for more than a year. I'm not sure. Anyway, it's a really long time whatever it is. When I think about it, it's kind of scary. Some people don't remember a General Forum without me.

That has to change sometime. It's been public knowledge for some time now that my time here at GameTavern is limited. This is in part due to my rapidly increasing workload at Swarthmore College, but there's more to it than that. To put it quite simply, I've been working here long enough. I don't come back here time and time again to edit posts and close threads. It's time for me to let go and hand the reins over to someone else.

There's more. As I make no pains to hide, one of my passions is writing fiction and fan fiction in particular. And as you may know, I have a Fan Fiction forum at PVG. What you probably don't know is that I joined up at PVG with the understanding that I would become a full staff writer (doing fanfics instead of articles) when the site launches. And when that happens, I want to devote all my energy to the job.

Well, I am told that the site launch for PVG is two weeks away, so it's time for you guys to prepare for my retirement. I'll still visit here, but don't expect me to come every day or to read every post in the General Forum. The reality is that I just might fade away and disappear altogether by the end of the year.

Anyway, I hope I've been an adequate moderator for you guys. Please be welcoming to whoever my replacement is.

And above all, read my fanfics.

Thanks for everything Xantar! We'll miss you! I can safely say you were one of the wisest here at GameTavern. Make some good fan-fics! You will be missed but you gotta do what's best for yourself. Go get em! :)

I don't wanna read his whole post, can somebody tell me if he's leaving, or what?

Well I'll miss having you here as a regular member (especially as GT's general mod). You are without a question one of the top members that has ever graced the forums of GT and the best damn General forum mod ever here and possibly any other forum that I've been to (sorry BJW, Null, quietmike and the others :D). You're one hell of an awesome member and person. I'll miss ya here!

And this holds true for GT now more than ever so before. In the last couple of week GT has seen to go through some complere metamorphism. I don't know if the problems with GT are internal or external (Even though I have my own beliefs) but there is something wrong here.

Well I'm not really in the mood of going into my own beliefs and the what nots, but I wish Xanny well on his future endeavors. I guess I will just continue to read your fanfics as usual. Can't say much for you as a member as you weren't as highly active as your post count makes you seem since I've returned, but you were pretty cool nonetheless.

I wouldn't leave GT to go moderate at PVG either. But as I've already said, that's not what I'm doing.
