9.5 from IGN, not bad at all.

Me neither. I'm looking forward to it, too.

Sometime this month, yeah.. I'm not paying close attention to the release date, because I'll probably just get it for Christmas.

I wasn't expecting a 9.5, but damn, that is good.

I am getting the game for sure.

Yeah, a lot of people are saying it's weak, and a fan service, but I am a complete whore when it comes to high production values, and polish. This game just OOZES with it, just as the last did.

They reckon the job changing system works really well

Re: FFX-2

I picked up the demo today. The game is very fun. The battle system is cool, very fast and lots of action. I got to play through two different missions, one was at the summit of Mt. Gagazet, and the other was in Bevelle. Very, very awesome scenary, and interaction with evironments is a whole lot of fun.

Contained in the demo was a translated version of the Eternal Calm, which was the 20 minute movie included in FFX International which opened the doors to FFX-2. The movie is english voiced, and its cool to finally see it. The demo said you won't see this english version of the movie anywhere else, so if you're a fan, go pick it up while supplies last.

Overall my impressions of FFX-2 are very good. This game is so polished and has such high quality, it's excellent.

You know it. In fact the demo allowed me to change into quite a few costumes, so I got to experiment with each character's different abilities and such.

BTW, the opening movie (not the actuall opening, the one that plays when the game starts up and shows the credits) is VERY impressive, awesome music in it and tremendous visual presentation.

Any new chars? I haven't read too much about it.

There's new summons right?

I love Squaresofts FMV sequences and music. Arguably the best in gaming.............period.

The only characters you use in battle are the three girls (Yuna, Rikku, Paine), but there are a bunch of other new main characters (Nooj, Baralai, Gippal, to name a few).

New summons? Well, that's an interesting topic. You should wait till you play it.

To learn more about the characters, story, gameplay, etc, check out the official website http://www.square-enix-usa.com/games/FFX-2/intro.html

There's also voice samples and wallpapers there.

BTW, OPM gave the game a perfect score.

Well, I put many hours into FFX, so I can already imagine what this game has to offer. Can't wait!

In a college version of Jeopardy, not one of the contestants was able to give the "question" to the answer speaking of an "X-2" RPG from a famous japanese franchise.

Re: FFX-2

lol, battle dialogue in FFX-2 is quite humorous.

Rikku shouts to a monster: "I'll kick you in the spline!"
Paine: "In the spline, eh?"
Rikku: "Quiet you!"

Re: FFX-2

I rented the game last Friday. I got to the final boss (I had a lot of time on my hands and skipped most of the side quests), but I was so horribly weak and unprepared that it slaughtered me in the second stage. I took the game back today and didn't feel like renewing this particular weekend.

Anyway, it's a really great game and I'm dissapointed that I just rented it.

Also, to anyone who is at Chapter 5, did you find it funny when:

REALLY MINOR SPOILERS (possibly).....
.
.
.

Shinra (the kid aboard the Celsius) mentions the possibility of harnassing the energy of the Farplace to create another city as grand as Zanarkand. Those wacky Square guys putting in references to FFVII.... That is, unless this game is a prequel to FFVII O_o
.
.

Re: FFX-2

I rented it as well, but was only able to get to Chapter 3 before I had to return it. I enjoyed myself enough to plan on asking for it for Christmas. I was afraid the game would be... "girly." Sailor Moon type swooning over guys and such. Fortunately, while there were a few times where I rolled my eyes, it wasn't too bad in area.

The plot was only seeming to get started where I got. Not entirely sure who the main bad guy or anything is so I can't somment on that.

The battles were very, very quick. Almost too quick sometimes, IMO. The job system was handled well. I liked the way you could switch 'em out and stuff like you could characters in FFX.

So I'll probably buy it or have it bought for me.

Re: FFX-2

though i like this game, it is seemingly weak. i got to level 62 thinking that would put up a fair fight with the final boss...much to my splendor and surprise i killed him in one hit every time.....weak, so seemingly weak. Plus the quickest way to level up is in the farplane on the pad thing with the save sphere, just run in circles then heal yourself after a battle
