I am considering trying out a banner network to try to get new members to come to GT in the future. I was just wondering if one of you guys could create a banner. The banner has to be 467x58. I'll try to figure out some type of reward.

I conjured something up....

What kind of banner, Bond? What message do you want it to convey? "Get the hell out of our elitist forum" or "Welcome all newbie fanboys, we want your opinion!"

Well, toned down a level, of course ¦¬Þ.

Also, where will the banner be placed? At the top of the forum, or other forums?

I guess I'm thinking something along the lines of the entrance images. If you could put "GameTavern" in the middle, and under it "a forum for all that is gaming" that would be pretty cool. Maybe around that there could be videogame characters or something.

Oh yeah, it would be between the GT shield logo and the user cp button.

I might get to it when I get some time...for those who DO work on a banner concept, make sure to use the same colors as the shield. thanks.

Here's my simple, yet powerful design.

And I'm always open for modification requests.

Edit: Just saw Crono-Link's, I like his, I think our forum could use a little more color.

Also, I did another one with no color... maybe this might match it a little more, but here...

I think that one would be great if the letters were the blue and white of the forums.

Otherwise, I think its neat.

I'm viewing my submitted work on a flat screen monitor right now and it looks horrible, jeez. I assure you, on a CRT monitor, that shadow and text looks much, much better.

Edit: It's not the montior, it's the format, jpeg is the best format for the banner if you take a look at my original one on page 1.

I've decided to use Rndm's banner for now, but I'll probably end up rotating them every so often. The banner exchange should be fully operational, so hopefully we'll start getting some new members.

We've already built up 7,031 credits, and only 178 have been used. That basically means our banner has appeared 178 different times on other websites in the banner exchange. So we have 6,853 credits left.

Thanks for choosing mine... aaand, what exactly does this all mean? Is GT part of a "web ring" of some sort? In other words, where is the banner surfacing, and is it a form of advertising?

It's basically a "web ring" or banner exchange. GT's banner is surfacing on all of the other videogame related websites involved in the banner exchange. Each credit equals one showing of our banner on another website. So I am basically trying to bring new members to GT since we can no longer rely on the google spider bots.
