well ya gotta figure everyone there and thier pet dog spot already own a PS2.

Even though it's old, it's a good conversational piece. ;)

I'm not suprised they overtook PS2, finally. I'm more suprised how Sony's kept the selling rate that high. Making hardware most people will have to buy over and over again is a good strategy. ;)

Eh, its only for one week. It's happened once before also. But at least Nintendo's sales went up because of the release of 2 rpg's in Japan.

Congratulations for beating Sony about 1 of 10 times (approximation... I don't know ****). :rolleyes:

Reasons why Gamecube should already be outselling PS2:
1) It's the Japanese gaming console
2) Everyone already has a PS2 O_o
3) According to Jonbo, there were 2 RPGs released recently


You should be excited when the total number of worldwide sales of GameCube surpasses that of PS2.

Really, if there is one thing i cant figure out, its WHY Gamecube isnt selling better (usually) than PS2. I mean really lets see what is better about it...

Better Graphics
Next to none load times
Awsome exclusive games (expecially some coming out, RE4, Rogue leader 3)
Less expensive
And i mean, you can look at all the technical **** too and see that it is also better on Gamecube.

Now here is why i think that Sony is selling so well...

Millions of unimformed gamers
"If everyone has a PS2 it must me good"....
"What? I was told it had the best graphics..." LOL

OK, now real reasons

More games...although not necesarily good.
More known globally
Plays PS1 games
Plays DVD (added feature over Gamecube)

But i mean really, who doenst already have a real...and good DVD player, but i can see why the backwards capability would help, cause i would want to be able to play my old games too.

PS2 sells best simply because most gamers feel it has the best games.

image helps a lot. Much of the time its a popularity thing. Nintendo has the kiddy image still, tho not as much. and its not the 'cool' console.

But my reason being that it just has a ton of great games. and some of my favorite exclusives like the GT series, and they been adding to thier exclusives and making them better.

Lately nintendo seems to just be doing a lot of the same. example being i wish they added a lot more to update F Zero, And waverace was almost exactly the same as the original. mario had nothing new. things like that.

Even though Nintendo has the kiddy image its been there for over 150 years, thats a lot of experience. First trading cards and then video games, the first one called Famicom and Nintendo. What do you expect, no, what would you expect from a console like Nintendo. It has good games and good mature games too. So what else do you want?

Nintendo didn't get it's ass in gear until the 70's, and even then they were low-profile. Before that they were a Ma and Pa playing card company. They only have really 25 years of being a good company, and half of those 25 years weren't great.

Well, its not that great a feat. Its the second time they beat sony with gamecube. But thats just a small, small battle compared to the ones sony has won.
