since ive had a string of negative rep for having "the worst gramer in gt"
ive decided to post this with the question ?does gramer relly matter?
but instead of posting it here i want the answer in the form of rep
please include a name and msg and if i get low enough rep i might start Capitizing and using periods... but my spelling will alwase suk.
ps no retaliation by loss of rep if you give your name but i will alwase reward with rep =-D

Ok thats a valid reason for me to use good grammer. Ill try to type better TRY no promises
and i scored a 100 out of 100 on my college entrance exam for English.

If you got a 100 out of a 100 on an English college entrance exam, you should have no trouble correctly placing periods, commas, and other such punctuation marks in the right places in your sentences.

Grammar is partially puncuation by the way. Even if it wasn't, correct grammar greatly increases the reader's ability to have a clue what you're talking about.

When you're on a message board, if the other members have to read and re-read your poor sentences to understand what you're trying to get across, then you will be disrespected and most likely insulted in several places.

No, grammer does not matter... So long as its understandable. If your grammer is so bad people have no idea what your saying then it matters.

For most people however, no, it wouldn't make a difference if one used a complete sentence or commas, etc.

Some grammer = good
Perfect grammer = too much time on your hands
No grammer = :hmm: wtf did you just say?

i have a question about rep. Whenever some one gives me rep, negitive or positive, it goes up and down more then just one point. Is that normal or is my stuff just screwed up.

You scoring 100/100 on your English college entrance exam is meaningless if you don't put it to good use. And Null is right; as long as people can understand what you are trying to say no one cares if you forget a period or whatever. But many times I find myself having to re-read your posts to even understand what you are trying to say.

I laugh my ass off at those who claim "perfect grammar" is a waste of time. Or how even posting a thread like this is very elitist and therefor a waste of time. Y'know, that's just a feeble excuse to not "waste your time" upon getting an education. No, I'm not "wasting my time" when I write this post, I don't have to slow down to check my grammar. If there's a mistake in here, it's a typo... I don't copy/paste it into word to check it, nor do I go over it carefully... or even think when I write. It is natural.

I tell you, if you're worrying about wasting your time, you shouldn't be at a forum discussing video games and grammar

What exactly ARE you trying to say? Sounds like your saying you dont waste your time copy/pasting into word to spell check, and dont waste time reading it carefully. But you said that stuff is not waste of time.

ok ok. but thats not what i meant when saying that.

Knowing it, and typing it out is fine, thats a good thing.

What i mean is, going out of your way to make everything absolutly perfect when you post it on here, is a waste.

Save that time and make it perfect for your job, (or incase of most people here, school).

Expecially when your in school or have a job that requires you to type a lot, its good to be in the habbit of typing good without thinking about it. I myself am currently not in the position of either. Out of school, done with college, and job doesnt require typing. (not this job at least. sure my next will)
