What is your favorite series, movies, etc.?

Just to start things off, what is your favorite tv series, movie, comic, etc?

I have always been a big fan of Star Wars, haha, yes it's true. I got into Star Trek when Deep Space Nine, been a fan ever since. I'll watch anything else, but don't have cable tv, so my options are limited.

My favorite movies include, Star Wars (all five), Back to the Future, Matrix, and last but not least: Starship Troopers. Hmmmm, haven't seen that one in a while, I'm gonna go watch it right now.

My favorite TV series would probably have to be The X Files.

Some of my favorite movies/movie series are Back to the Future, Jurassic Park (just the first one), The Navigator, Men in Black (just the first one), X-Men (mutants are Sci-Fi, right?), The Matrix, and StarWars.

My favorite science fiction books are The Time Machine and Contact.

My favorite science fiction creatures are the alien and the robot.

My favorite science fiction gadgets are the Time Machine, The Light Saber, and The Neuralizer (the pen shaped thing from MIB that erases peoples memories and then let's you fill in the blank).

Hell yeah! I love X-Men, I forgot to say that. I watch all the cartoons, yes I'm a big loser, shut up :). I loved X-Men2!!

Haha, I love the lightsaber too. I have full sized versions of Obi-Wan's, Darth Maul's, and Luke's. Good times with my friends :D. Many injuries too, lol!

BreakABone 08-01-2003 03:03 PM

*Thinks*

i've watched star trek since i was a kid, cept i don't really like the new one "enterprise", its kinda lost its charm. I've been a star wars fan since i can remember and i'm pissed at George Lucas for deciding not to produce ep.7,8, and 9!! my favorite show has gotta be xmen though, and the standalone books are pretty good as well.

Star Wars.

And are there books or anything for SW episode 7,8,9? Because I know a lot of people are pissed he isn't making them, but I'm not even sure if they existed in the first place.

the entire script for all nine movies was written originally. It was supposed to be ONE MOVIE, but it was just *slightly* too big, so he decided to split it up into nine movies. Its all hiddin away in an office somewhere

Ginkasa 08-01-2003 07:15 PM

Yeah, but I doubt that those scripts would work now. At least not as they are. George Lucas made various changes to the story while making the original trilogy. Leia wasn't originally Luke's sister, Vader wasn't originally Luke's dad, the Ewoks were originally Wookies. There are probably more both those are the only ones I can thik off the top of my head...

I'm sure that the prequels were also changed considerably from the original idea as well. While the basic story is the same, the Star Wars movies are very different from the original one movie idea.

Yes, there are many books after RotJ. I own almost all of them, lol. I've read almost all of them twice. Yes, I know I'm sad.

I'm currently reading through them. I've read all of them up to Balance Point in the New Jedi Order, minus Tatooine Ghost. I'm going to finish up the NJO, read Tatooine Ghost, and then start on the prequel books.

You know..if you care...

Yoda9864 08-02-2003 02:24 AM

Mmmmm, I love a good star wars book. Favorites are the Thrawn Trilogy and Thrawn Dualogy. I also found Boba Fett's trilogy to be especially interesting.

Ginkasa 08-02-2003 02:35 AM

I haven't read any of the books that take place during the Classic Trilogy either...minus Shadows of the Empire which was the book (and game and comic) that got me into the EU.

The Thrawn books are definetely masterpieces. Zahn is just as good at telling a Star Wars story than even Lucas has even been.

I also enjoyed the X-Wing books. Corran Horn is by far my favorite EU character. I really hope either Stackpole or Allston are given the oppurtunity to continue the series.

Exactly. Zahn is a very good writer. The X-Wing series is very good also. Kinda makes me want to go start reading it again.

My favorite EU character is Mara Jade. She's very interesting. Corran and Mirax are also very nice.

I like pretty much any Sci-Fi movie...I like Star wars...dont like star trek...I like movies such as signs, close encounters of the third kind, or anything alien related.

Re: What is your favorite series, movies, etc.?

Wow, what I question. I love Star Wars, and al the Trek Series' minus the current one (Enterprise), and X-Men.
I love such classic authors as HG Wells, Issac Asimov, and Arther C. Clarke. I also like Urasala K. Le Guin, William Sleator, and Douglas Adams.
The Utopian (or anti-utopian) societies found in such books as Huxley's Brave New World and 1984 bring the other series into different lights, and make them seem less ficticious in comparison to our own society.

So yeah.

and Bond, why is my name still not in green?

I'm not Bond, but I bet I can answer!

.....

Anyway...

If you go to your User CP and click on "Usergroups" there will be a list at the bottom of your current usergroups. You can click on the little dot next to one and hit enter at the bottom.

If you click Sci-Fact, your name should be green.

Something like that.

If not, then you'll have to ask Bond...
