Chess Tourney
 

Well, I thought I'd try and start up another chess tourney. I think we had some fun back in GameTRAC with these...or maybe I was just a dillusional egoist.... But anyway, I'm setting the tourney date on: I'm allowing for 16 entrants. First sixteen people to sign up get in. But please, be sure that you can make it. We've had some problems with absences in the past.


If you are competing, I would ask that you go to Pogo and set up an account before the tourney begins. It wouldn't hurt to enter a game and make sure everything works.

I would like to STRONGLY recomend www.playsite.com all you need is a login, no downloads required.

Well actually, the best site would definately be www.flyordie.com. No downloads required, and it seems as though the initial loading time is faster than playsites. And the grpahics are better :D. There is however a 20 minute time limit for each player.

But anyway...

I may join in, it's just the time difference, maybe if it was earlier?

I'd love to play, but I'll be in Pittsburgh on the 9th, and I'll probably be busy out there(not to mention I wont have access to a computer)

So I guess im sitting this one out.

Sorry, but I really don't like that site. It took over my whole screen (not a normal window), it had pop-ups, and i got disconnected from the server 3 times (twice during games).

The tourney will be held at MSN Gaming Zone. The download is only like 164k (if that), and the quality of the service is much better than other sites.

Also, I'm moving the time up to 7pm Central time if that's ok with everybody.

I've checked out Pogo.com, and I have to say that I like it, not as much as MSN, but I'll compromise and hold it there. It doesn't require a download, I hope this works out for everybody. Sorry for so many changes everyone, just trying to make everyone as happy as possible.

I think we should post the SN names we'll be using if for some reason we can't (or won't) use our GT names...


Both Ginkasa and Link1130 were taken (I checked to make sure I hadn't made an account previously..) so my name is Ultimsupe (Ultimate Superior if you care).

So... Its Wednesday, July 9 and only half an hour until the tournament starts...

So...

What room are we in? What are the matches? Doesn't really work if we have to og search in random rooms looking for somebody in the tournament. It doesn't work further if we don't know whether we're supposed to play against a person once we've found him/her.

Gah, definately. So, where's it going to be? I added all the screen names selected by those who posted into my "friends list" and not a single one is in a room. How about people go to a room and sit put? Yoda, help the coordination please.
