Snake Vs Link

In a fight between Link and Solid Snake who do you think would win. Link has his sword and shield while Snake has his socom and ketchup.

GameMaster 06-04-2003 01:33 AM

The Hero of Time, nuff said.

ZeroCool51 06-04-2003 01:33 AM

Gun shot to the head nuff said.

Blackmane 06-04-2003 03:16 AM

Assuming that our hero of time is able to dodge a bullet or two, I would definetely say Link. nuff said

bobcat 06-04-2003 05:12 AM

Link can travel through time hence "The hero of Time"...........nuff said!

lol

GameKinG 06-04-2003 10:11 AM

He shall travel to a time where snake doesnt have his gun with him.

Snake has his socom? You realize that makes no sense, right?

ZeroCool51 06-04-2003 10:34 AM

A socom is a gun that Snake uses in MetalGear and im saying that Snake has it. What dont you understand.

gekko 06-04-2003 10:38 AM

SOCOM is a military command, not a gun.

ZeroCool51 06-04-2003 10:44 AM

In metalgear solid they call the item a socom. In METALGEAR SOLID When you pick the gun up it's called the SOCOM. IN THE PLAYERS GUIDE FOR METALGEAR SOLID THEY CALL THE GUN A SOCOM. Your making this to complicated.

gekko 06-04-2003 10:49 AM

The gun in Metal Gear Solid is a HK Mark 23 equipped with a LAM. The gun was designed for use by SOCOM units, the U.S. Navy SEALs are one of them. But it's not called a SOCOM. If you want to get technical, the gun is part of the OHWS.

ZeroCool51 06-04-2003 11:05 AM

You are the one being technical, i am saying that in metalgear they call it a socom. I dont think you have ever played metalgear solid and that is why you did not know. When you pick the gun up it's called the socom.

gekko 06-04-2003 11:12 AM

I haven't played much of MGS2. I know exactly which gun you were referring to, but it's not called a SOCOM.

If Konami got it wrong, they should be shot. The only reason it has SOCOM in the name at all is because it's a SOCOM-issued handgun, as opposed to commercial model. Saying someone has a SOCOM makes absolutely no sense.

Snake uses the Mk23 OHWS.

One Winged Angel 06-04-2003 11:35 AM

If Donkey Kong had a laser gun. He would so win both of their asses.

gekko 06-04-2003 11:39 AM

Nah. Link with a lightsaber.

DeathsHand 06-04-2003 02:16 PM

Who cares what the name of the gun is... I think you care too much about military crap, Gekko...

As for stupid who would beat who in a fight questions... I think they're stupid...

So Snake :sneaky:

Rndm_Perfection 06-04-2003 02:38 PM

Yes, enough dumbass comments from Gekko for today.

As for the battle, Snake would be the victor... and by God, it'd have everything to do with the ketchup.

TheGame 06-04-2003 03:17 PM

I vote for snake because I liked MGS2 more than Celda:WW... personally I don't know how this fight would make any sense. Man with Gun>Man with sword.

Also, when you say "link" are you talking about the Hero of time, or the new link, or one of the old ones? ;)

DarkMaster 06-04-2003 03:18 PM

if my memory serves me right, in MGS the actual name of the gun was SOCOM issued .45 handgun, in the menu they just labelled it as SOCOM.

anyway...Link would probly win cause he has magical powers (i'm too lazy to think of anything else).

indeed...

picked up Socom
regardless of what it really is, in Metal Gear Solid the gun Snake uses is referred to as 'Socom'.

But Gekko is saying that a "Socom" isn't the proper term? Is that right? Sorry I'm just curious

Ginkasa 06-04-2003 06:17 PM

According to gekko, SOCOM is not the proper term, and he's probably correct. But the point ZeroCool was trying to make was not whether it was the proper term or not but that SOCOM was the term used in the game.

I think.

*shrugs and walks away*

GameKinG 06-04-2003 06:18 PM

What if the gun couldnt hurt link? He does have magic and such that would allow that.

GameMaster 06-04-2003 09:04 PM

Link has a lock-on boomerang and ice/fire arrows, he'd win, nuff said.

Seriously though, these are lame. At least put link against someone from FF or snake against Sam Fischer.

GO SQUALL!!!!

GrayFox 06-06-2003 08:56 AM

Snake could use the ketchup to blind link and then just go up and snap his neck.

GamingFreak 06-16-2003 10:04 AM

Link would win no doubt about it.

Seven7 06-16-2003 10:10 PM
