I expect some booing to occur during the Canadian anthem when the Canadien's have their next game in the U.S...even though it would be totally stupid and unjustified...It'll still probably happen.

Well, it did happen, though it was the Senators at Thrashers.

it happened last year in the playoffs. At Vancouver,

i think it also happened in Montreal in the playoffs.

Both First round. And i think some americans did it back to em in a following game.

it quickly stoped for both sides after thoes first couple games.

shame to hear its been done again.

It happened last year in Vancouver when the American pilot killed 4 Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan.

Well, a lot of people think that the US is killing our great national sport.

Ok... you guys do the same thing... as i recall... during the playoffs last year in basketball our anthem was booed also... it was detroit and the booing was pretty loud...

Most of the Canadian/American booing in sporting events is a result of jealousy.

I think it's pointless and stupid, but it's bound to happen. I tend to ignore it.

Really? I thought it resulted from of a lack of intelligence within the crowd attending the game on the particular night that an anthem is booed.

Random American Fan: "Man this Canadian beer sucks."

Random Canadian Fan #1: " What the f**k? Oh, let's get that hoser, eh?"

Random Canadian Fan #2: "What should we do, eh? Beat 'em up?"

Canadian Fan #1: "Naw, let's just taunt him, eh? Watch this.... Hey hoser, you want some pop?"

American Fan: "Some what?"

Canadian Fan #1: "Some pop, eh?"

American Fan: "Oh, you mean soda?"

Canadian Fan #1: "Not in this country I don't, hoser!"

*American fan looks a little disgruntled*

Canadian Fan #2: "Hey, I don't think that bugged him enough. Let's boo the anthem when it starts, eh?"

Canadian Fan #1: "Great idea!"

*after the anthem is booed*

American Fan: "That's it! When I get back home to Atlanta, I'm gonna get my buddies together and we're gonna teach you Canadians a lesson!"

now to fit with my story above :P

what happened was Detroit Redwings were in Vacouver, Vancouver Boo'd the american anthem. So back home, since our hockey team was away. the americans at the basketball game boo'd the canadian one since they were playin a canadian team.

it also happened in Montreal when boston? i think was up there, canadians boo'd the american one as i said. but that was really the extent of it. it ended after that last year.

As said already, the Americans in Atlanta also booed the Canadian national anthem today.

And the fans in Toronto gave the American national anthem a huge standing ovation at tonight's Toronto vs Buffalo game.

I've had about three instances of it at Vancouver Canucks games. It's not rare.

Yep.. I noticed that as well. Very respectful. But, stuff like this does not get reported, only the booing, lol.

Nah, they reported that tonight the Canadien's fans cheered and such. It was on espn.com. Of course that's after all the bad press they got, but whatever.

It also happened at an Islanders/Leafs game, last year in the playoffs I think (or maybe it was earlier this year I dunno). But either way, it's still immature to boo an anthem, no matter what country it's from.

You know whats funny though... like in Atlanta when the Canadian anthem gets booed.. I dont think the people who were booing rit realized that there are a lot of Canadian people on the Thrashers' team... so thats basically insulting their own players.

ah, those Crazy Quebecers (that booed)...maybe it's because they're frenchmen, and the US and french have had differences lately?...booing occurs. Really stupid and unrespectful. Thankfully the fans in Toronto had the class to clap during the US anthem...

Heh heh...crap like that is bound to happen...no big deal...

But about the soda pop thing...I think that varies by the area of the US you live in...because here in the Midwest, we often call soda ''Pop'' I do all the time.

Just for the record, I've lived in Canda and I like Candians. I just HATE French Canadians like those that live in Montreal and Quebec. They're arrogant pricks. Sorry, but they are, and a lot of Canadians I talked to agreed with me.

On the note of anthems, do you guys take your hat off if you are wearing one? I was at the Raptor game the other day, and me and my friend were like the only ones who took our hats off and held them to our bosom (:)) It was weird.

I could not agree with you more. Quebecors have always had different thoughts and feelings than the rest of Canada, like in WWII and how Quebec wanted to seperate from Canada a couple of years back.

Well your supposed to take your hat off when the anthem is played. I know I do and everyone around me does when I go to a baseball game. The people who did not take their hat's off were probably French Canadians.
