![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These are screens from the SKip Ltd, RPG Giftpia, which I have no clue if it will ever make it's way to the Us. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ngc/ggfj/g...openning_l.mp3 That is the bizarre opening theme |
The game looks wierd, but I am intrigued by the graphic style and art design. Cel-shading is really getting popular, finally, I think it rocks.
|
I think this will be a game where people look at it and say wtf?!:wtf: and when they try it out, they become hooked. Kind of like Animal Crossing.
|
I think the screens are bad and are a cheap attempt for Wind Waker's art style.
It would only be fair for this game to fail miserbaly, since their so obviously copying Wind Waker. The people look pretty ****ed up too, IMO. |

Cel-shading=Zelda ripoff? Anyhow, more info on the game. Quote:

So this is basically Animal Crossing with more sidequests or something, I think the game could be cool, I mean a relaxing pace with no real goal in mind is cool sometimes. Quote:

The theme song is just...*speechless*

That song is simply ****ed up. |

I don't think it looks much like Zelda at all, besides them both being cel-shaded. Completely different design in characters and stuff. *shrugs and walks away* |

Now you tell me, does that make sense? |
I think cel-shading is being used way too much. Granted, it is great, and it plays great, but all of a sudden there has been this flood of cel shaded games. Oh well, a lot of them are high quality games, so whatever.

Probably not. I have feeling that the Wind Waker screens were revealed around the same time Dark Cloud 2 was in developement. So, my speculation would be that Dark Cloud 2 staff knew Wind Waker's new style was going to be a success so they quickly revised their style to be cel shaded also. I'm sure in the original sketches, Dark Cloud 2 was not cel shaded.

*butt in*
Holy snap! This theme song owns. What's wrong? The singing? :D I can't wait to see how this game will turn out. It's Nintendo, by and by.. Earthbound roots! Excellent. |

Cel Shading does not belong to Nintendo. It's just a new graphic style. Some games are better suited to it's style, where as others are not. Just accept it. I don't see how you think that since Nintendo did it, everyone else wants to do it for that reason. It really shows you're um... biased towards Nintendo. |

Also, just to let you know, DC2's graphics are NOT cel-shaded. This is a form of animation called CG modeling, a style that got it's start in tradition animation like Zoids and the new He-Man series. The difference is the fact that cell shading uses a base color skin over a 3D mesh and doesn't have a black line around it. Where as the CG modeleing in Dark Cloud 2 (and in Wild Arms 3) is partially 3D mesh covered by a detailed and textured skin. Not to mention, that DC2's art design is nowhere near that of WW. They are two completely different designs. There's more than one way to cel-shade you know. Look at ZOE2, thats cel-shaded, did they copy off of WW? hell no, Nintendo didnt invent cel-shading. Just because a new cel-shaded game comes out doesn't mean it copied off of Zelda:WW. |
jet grind radio
I think jet grind radio put cel shading on the map... correct me if I'm wrong but that is the first place I had ever seen it in a video game.
|
yes, plastic you are correct jgr was the first game to use cel shading.
