Wel, DOA has dropped like a egg, and Metroid Fusion doing pretty well for a japanese market. Though that doesnt factor in what part of the week it came out in...
|
ZOE2, although not doing bad, should be doing better....
|
Wow .......Mario Party is still selling relatively well considering the amount of time has been on the market, plus it's not what I would call a A+ game or a game with lasting appeal. ( sometimes the mini games get old fast...they shoudl have had more)

5 9 Pocket Monster Sapphire Pokemon GBA RPG 27,050 1,994,220
6 10 Pocket Monster Ruby Pokemon GBA RPG 26,530 1,951,215 Damn, 4 million. Then look at 23 31 Legend of Zelda: Baton of Wind Nintendo GC A.RPG 5,156 606,386  It's a an demonstration of the Gamecube's current performance, that's for sure. |

Pokemon on GBA has nothing to do with Gamecube's performance ;) :sneaky: |
Well its obvious the Japanese are still obsessed with pokemon. I just dont see those games selling even close to that good here in the States, I think pokemon's popularity has dropped big time here in the states.
|
It's good to see that DOAX Volleyball is sucking the big one... Hope the X-Box manages to sell on QUALITY games... this one just doesn't cut it. A damn dating sim with a vollyball minigame...
|
I'm surprised to see Zelda falling off so quickly. Then again, enough Japanese people should already own this game, so it would kind of make sense for it to fall off. But I dunno. I think Zelda sales in the US will be great for a month or 2, but it will probably fall off fast since enough gamers own the game and there isn't a cheat code that could "ruin" the game and make most gamers think their copy is shot, so they have to run out and buy another copy. *cough GT...you know what I'm talking about;):D...ummm....COUGH!*

600,000 in three months in one area is very good for a Gamecube game.

But i dont think its gonna appeal to people older than like 12..... |
Actually those sales only count for all of January and what the sales week ended at in February. Zelda came out last year. I dont know the official sales but they should be somwhere from 750,000 - 850,000.
|
I bet some people are going to buy a cube just for Zelda. The number of preorders is also nothing to scuff at.
|
Anyone who doesn't think Zelda won't be a big success in NA must be misinformed...
-preorders alone should swallow first shipped copies -Zelda always has been a success in NA -Gamecube fans have been waiting for this game for almost TOO long |
but the fact that a lot of zelda fans wont like it cause its cel shaded might not have it be as big as say OoT or i dunno.. other zelda titles..
|
Im sure zelda will sell quite well in the states, but not as well as it could have im sure. I hate to say it, but there are a lot of idiots out there that wont look past the graphics.

Well, the only thing, Nintendo could hope for are that a lot of people are taking by it's animaiton and whatnot.
It's rather weird, I went to EBGames on Saturday with my friend to look for his GCN, and Zelda looks cool and all but just looks like no comepetiton standing next to the Halo 2 video that was playing. |
I saw a commercial for WW, and trust me, people will not overlook it because of the graphics. They will probably buy it because of it, lol. Seeing the graphics in motion on a TV is beaut-e-ful.
|
Nobody I know likes the new look of Zelda except like 2 people... And one of them might not like the new look, but he has it pre-ordered either way...
I went to the mall with a group of friends and they had the Zelda demo set up so I was playing it and 2 peepsles I was with thought it looked so stupid, the other didn't seem to like the new look either, and he also wasn't happy that there was no jump button (he hasn't played the N64 games)... *shrugs* I've only ran into one guy who likes the new look, and another person I know has it pre-ordered, but I'm not sure if he likes the new look or if he just wants it because it's Zelda... I'm sure Zelda will still sell good enough though :p And even if it doesn't I don't care cuz I'll still enjoy it |
Yeah, one of the main reasons Im buying it is the graphics. There so COOL!
As long as I get my copy, I don't care about anything else. |
IMO Zelda will sell and will sell a lot... only problen it won't move the number of systems people will want.
