Hey, it's still progress, for Xbox at least. Xbox fans have a reason to celibrate now.
But I agree though, those aren't hot numbers period. |
Well if it's because of that volley ball game, I wouldn't be to proud.
|
Hate to ruin your party, but that information is fake.
These are famitsu numbers, check it out PlayStation 2 (56,878) Game Boy Advance (30,029) GameCube (8177) Xbox (5184) PS one (1663) SwanCrystal (1123) Wonder Swan Color (618) Game Boy Color (575) And these numbers are from IGN Japan GameCube: 9,341 Xbox: 8,862 So there you have it, seems that other website you quoted took GC's famitsu numbers and Xboxes IGN Japan (which I belive is mediacreate) and did it that way. Not that it matters, but you title is a bit misleading ;). |
which week is the quoted report from, and which week is link's report from?
|

It is probably fake though. If you could find us the link where you got this information from Puppet that would be great. |
Hey Bond, how the hell are supposed to read the scrolling text in your sig? It's kind of akward.

Also, you should ad in you "axis of weasels" Russia and China

Anyway, what i meant to say was, is that the title is incorrect :D. But anyway, this doesn't change the fact that both the GC and Xbox are getting trounced by the PS2... |
Now the question I want to ask, I don't know if it's stated in the article, but what weeks are the sales for, I mean it doesn't state if it's this week, which is highly unlikely, last week or 6 weeks ago.
|
I don't think it should be a celebration for Xbox fans as much as it should be a depression for Gamecube fans ;)

By the way, I thought you were opposed to the whole idea of war? Which would make me think you side with France, Germany, and Belgium. |
Well you need an update. France changed their flag to just solid white. They felt it was more appropriate, since it's flown more than their current red white and blue design :D
|
Xbox number 2? Even if it did outsell the Gamecube's sell this week, it would have been number 3.... Don't forget about the GBA and the insane Pokemon sales.
Also, can you link the site you got that info from? |
You'd think that everyone in Japan by now would own atleast 2 PS2's. 50 000 every week. geez.

Mine does and I keep my PS2 in perfect condition. |
Oh my, XBox is gaining ground... :/
Its more of 'ok' kinda good to know news for xbox owners, and 'ok' kinda bad news for gamecube owners. Cause ussualy something like 4,000 against 13,000. But japan loves their 'volleyball', just imagining they could 'play' with the 'voleyballs'. Anything else out for them in japan? PSO? PD:O? BTW, they eat GBAs for breakfast, and build houses with PS2s... |
Comfirmed... well, sorta... I just saw on G4TV that Xbox did infact beat GCN in sales in Japan for a week.
But like I said earlier in the thread... what date was your news from PsYcHo? |
Wow, 1 whole week! Oh no, the world is gonna end!
Why make a big deal over nothing? |
Maybe because this is a pretty big deal for Xbox. lol. :P

Yeah but saying this is a big deal for xbox actually kinda makes their sales even more pathetic in perspective (In Japan).
|
Well congrats M$.......it may be only one week, but combine that with the fact that Xbox is made by an Americian company, and the fact that Zelda.WW was recently released, I'm surprised that Xbox was able to beat GC sales at all ( even if it was one week).
:D *imagines Bill celebrating once sees the good news* |

Ok, so japan and american sales all combined..who has sold the second most? Xbox or Gamecube. Cuz if this is the first week ever that the xbox has outsold the GC...?
so in total which system has more sales? ps. Fanboys don't reply. |

Half the people you talk to will say Xbox is ahead worldwide, half the people you talk to will say GameCube is ahead worldwide. Although these three things I know are true: Xbox is ahead of the GameCube in America. GameCube is ahead of the Xbox in Japan. Xbox is ahead of the GameCube in Europe. |

I think this the amount of consoles sold in the USA.
Now if someone could find the sales for Japan and Europe.*hint* *hint* That brings the cumulative installed bases to: PS2: 16,318,000 XBOX: 4,765,000 GameCube: 3,664,000 GBA: 12,159,000 http://www.nintendojo.com/infocus/vi...php?1045600920 |
Sorry for the delay, Justin, the date is on the link.
But anyway, sorry to bring up this old topic, but those numbers were proven wrong. An explanation on how they came up with the numbers from the videogamestocks group on Yahoo (Link to message): The website that reported those numbers clearly made up the story to generate hits to their site for ad revenue. They quote 'Weekly Famitsu' as the source for their numbers when the Famitsu numbers had the GCN at ~8200 and the Xbox at ~5200. They then used figures from a different source (Dengeki), which had the Xbox at the ~8700 figure and the GCN somewhere near 10,000) and put them together. Really just pathetic to be honest -- they also made up a random number on the Pokémon RuSa weekly sales, claiming they'd fallen to 33k per week when they were still going strong at ~60k. [Source: Gamepro.com] Famitsu: Week ending January 26th: PlayStation 2 (64,148) Game Boy Advance (33,365) GameCube (9341) Xbox (8862) PS one (2254) SwanCrystal (1506) Game Boy Color (491) Wonder Swan Color (477) Week ending Feb 2nd: PlayStation 2 (56,878) Game Boy Advance (30,029) GameCube (8177) Xbox (5184) PS one (1663) SwanCrystal (1123) Wonder Swan Color (618) Game Boy Color (575) Week ending Feb 9th: PlayStation 2 (46,918) Game Boy Advance (25,640) GameCube (7653) Xbox (3101) PS one (2192) SwanCrystal (971) Wonder Swan Color (659) Game Boy Color (446) Week ending Feb 16th: Game Boy Advance SP (117,859) PlayStation 2 (62,409) Game Boy Advance (32,422) GameCube (7607) Xbox (3012) PS one (1329) SwanCrystal (1262) Wonder Swan Color (530) Game Boy Color (453) |

maybe you just don't know how to take care of your games... I had a PSOne from spring 2001-fall 2002, and I sold it. I played two games on it most of the time and I never had a disk error or a freze or anything of that nature happen.
If you are talking about Psx... then err year, they got issues. Mine just had a problem loading. The only way it would load late in it's life span is if I would sit the console on it's side. |
I just found this at another Xbox forum:

By the way, I can't view that link you posted from Yahoo, Shadow Link, mind posting it on the forum? |
