Well, Nintendo is suppose to have many announcements today...If they come true.

Its about time Nintendo learned from Palm and started making handhelds backlit and rechargeable. I got a Gamecube recently for when I was camping out for Eagles playoff tickets (GO BIRDS!!!) and I was very PISSED to find out that it wasn't backlit. Hell, its hard to see when there are normal house lights on it, much less street lights on. I was sitting there like a doofus with a flashlight in the crick of my neck trying to play Fire Pro 2.

I'm pretty sure that there are back lit screens for the Cube on the market...

You have no idea how uncomfortable that looks. :unsure:

They've got it everywhere. IGN, Gamespot, PGC.. It's real. Even the fact Nintendo's forcing us to purchase additionally a headphone jack so we can plug in headphones...eh. All I can say is, I was beleiving this for the longest time during the megaton age.

So... HAH! No more megaton! I'm so relieved... :p

and here I was under the illusion that Nintendo was going to announce something that was actually worth my time. WTF! a backlit gba? That's it? Now I have to go out and spend another 150 cdn on a gba. Oh goody.

This IS the megaton? Oookay, what a dissapointment, although I wan't expecting much in the first place. This new GBA does look a bit uncomfortable, but oh well. I'm sure it won't be too bad.

i thought the megaton announcement was suppose to make buying a GCN worth while....

I think Megaton has been proven to be a hoax by now. Even I bought into it (curse you, CBS Marketwatch!).

This GBA SP isn't bad. I just wonder how comfortable it's going to be to play.

Also, Nintendo is releasing it primarily in platinum in the U.S. They seem to like using silver colored square things over here, don't they...

Don't worry. New rumors spreading. European website reports megaton coming in February, and involving an online game you can't live without.

But ya, megaton is a load of crap. IGN proved that when the reports saying Famitsu reported it were false.

Imagine if either F-Zero or Mario Kart were to be online... It would be awsome.

Ya know what would be even more awesome?:) ....-=Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and F-Zero=- all being online...oh and a million dollar cash in rebate.

B. As i said its built in. kinda like a HD MP3 player. you go thro a bit of work tryin to get that battery out if you ever wanted to. theres no plate to slide off to insert batteries. its actually built in.

so yes, it comes with it.

I meant the mechanism used to recharge the rechargable lithium battery.

im beting they'll package in the recharger. (aka AC adaptor) and the headphone plug.

This is not the megaton. Fact is, you cant really tell what is, or if there is one. Consider megaton = dead. These announcements = new stuff.

I personally would like to have two battery pack things...so when one dies out the other one is charged and just swap em. Oh well.

Yeah that would be better.. and they have to pack the recharger too, everybody needs it. I think... unless it's the same one used for mobile phones and stuff.
Sweet thing, it will atrackt new gamers to the AGB. But it's not for me... looks too uncomfy. And I've never really needed a light.

how could you never really need a light? maybe i'm just getting old, but i can't play the thing without the gamestar floodlight...

I don't need a light, either, Angrist. I have this sweet spot where I play my GBA.... And the light is perfect.

the main appeal of a portable system is that you are not restricted to playing it in one specific place...you may have one spot in your house where it plays fine...but what if you were on an airplane? camping?

I play it often in a train. And in University [:sneaky:] and in a bunch of other places! You just gotta find the right way to hold the thing.

But of course, a light would be nice SOME times...

Frontlit. The only lights are in the edges of the screen.

Yeh, you have the option of turning the the front light off.
