1) Viewtiful Joe

Director: Hideki Kamiya
Release date: Spring 2003
According to Capcom, this is a "beautiful side-scrolling action game" with a unique anime-cel-shaded visual style. In it, players control a superhero character and are able to perform a variety of stylistic fight moves. A special "slow time" feature will enable gamers to knock foes backward dozens of feet -- nearly off the screen, in fact, while a "zoom in" option will make possible other powerful jabs.

2) Product Number 03 (P.N.03)

Director: Shinji Mikami
Release date: Spring 2003
Whoa! An exclusive new GameCube title from Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil. P.N.03 is an action game featuring a beautiful and hip female soldier who possesses an ultra-destructive laser gun. The game has been described as a Tomb Raider meets Devil May Cry. It looks "far more beautiful" than Devil May Cry, say insiders.

Vanessa Z. Schneider is a hired mercenary who kills robots at her client's request, according to Capcom. The character's dark past -- namely the fact that these same type of robots murdered her parents -- though, is about to catch up with her. Vanessa must dodge and weave through a heavy barrage of firepower from an army of transforming mechs and shoot them with her gun.

3) Dead Phoenix

Director: Hiroki Kato
Release date: Summer 2003
In Dead Phoenix, players can "freely fly like a bird into a world of epic proportions." The game revolves around a warrior and takes place on a floating ancient city. The warrior must slay monsters and other disgusting creations that inhabit the world. Filled with fantastic sights, places and sounds, says Capcom. Every day the world of the game evolves and changes.

4) Killer 7

Director: Gouichi Suda
Release date: Winter 2003
An action-adventure type game with psychological elements, Killer 7 seems to take inspiration from classics such as Hard Boiled. Harmon Smith is a dangerous old man in a wheelchair -- an assassin with seven unique personalities, according to the Capcom description. Kun Lan -- or "God Hands" -- is a man capable of overthrowing governments. The game tells the dark rivalry between these two characters over five stories and four intertwined worlds.

Even as Kun Lan's corruption spreads across the world, Smith must use his special powers and dwell in his different personas to defeat his nemesis.

5) Biohazard 4...........YAWN. No comment!

Anyways I'm not going to trust any of these games until I see the reviews because Capcom is developing them, and none are fighting games. Interesting none the less.........wouldn't you say?

3 & 4 sound interesting. But I was hoping for info on Poject Devil, and Cas Ra.

Looks good. Exclusive is ALWAYS a good word--freaking third-party games that appear on more than one system do not do good justice to any system.

Ones that appear on one system first and then are later ported to other systems can... for the system it was on first, at least :p

Anyways those games sound weird... Although I guess I'm just saying that because Capcom has a number of big franchises, and only one of the new games is from one of them so yeah... :p

I'm guessing those are Japanese release dates..... and like DsH said, thest games sound wierd. Why can't they release an exclusive Street fIghter or somthin'? :p

RE4 looks sweet! Graphics I mean... and it has full 3D enviorments!... Although I guess the graphics still aren't all that special, just check out Silent Hill 3 :p

I havn't downloaded the whole movie yet, but I saw Leon's name so I am guessing that means he's a playable character, which is cool and I'm glad they brought him back... *crosses fingers and hopes for something in the story to be about Sherry*... :p

The other games still sound weird though ;)

Question - How the hell do the NGC 3D graphics go from what they have been at lately (not bad, but not THIS good) to RE4 level?

I bet the final game won't look as good... or at least there won't be all those crazy effects like... I dunno... :eek: I mean just look at ED... and now look at RE4... :unsure:

It's the DIVX thing Factor5 created--they've been using it. In fact they were probably one of the first to get their hands on it. With less space taken up for movies, there's tons more room for better graphics. Gamecube's capable of Xbox graphics, or better! I'm also guessing they've been working with the Gamecube for a while now, you know.. pumping out the RE remake, and they've been experimenting, and now they're going into the game with better skills in Gamecube Graphics. It looks sweet.

Except.. Killer 7 is kind of weird.. it's not even cel-shading.. but probably a unique game.:unsure:

Wow, looks like they are using some new an art styles ive never seen before...I hope it all works out for them.

Characters always look different when they go from crummy graphics of generations past to uber nice 3D graphics...

I mean just look at Snake from MGS to MGS2 :p

DsH, everything you're seeing in RE 4 is ingame, and bound to look slightly better upon its release.

Games almost never look as good as the pictures that are "in game"

It looks as though RE 4 has a moving camera.

It better... After seeing that movie :p I remember there was a movie of RE1 where it made the enviornments look 3D because the camera moved, but it was just like a little tour of the house kinda thing, not actual game footage... if they did some crap where they make up a piece of the game to make it look all 3D with a moving camera, then the final game has pre-rendered backgrounds, I'm'a be mad >_<

Well maybe not but still, I'd like a moving camera this time, and if you get graphics like that with a moving camera, I don't think anyone's gonna complain :p

IGN have gone on the record and said that the camera is a moving one. Not only that, but the game looks absolutely stunning. :eek: (So does PN03 :D).

I just hope RE 4 plays nearly as good as it looks :D.

It'll probably play just like past RE games ;) I hope they add some new stuff though... I mean with the enviornments being 3D, they gotta be able to add some new gameplay elements or something (I know RE:CV was 3D and they didn't add anything, but still)... or maybe that virus Leon has will effect the gameplay somehow (You said it was a possibile spoiler in your one post, but I don't really think it is if we know about it already :p Or did it happen in one of the past games and I just forgot about it? :unsure: )...

And I hope they vary the endings more... and get rid of the damn triggering system/self destruct system/whatever else will make a huge explosion and gets rid of the entire area you just played through... that's how every single RE game has ended... and maybe there could be more varied endings... varied between good and bad... Like Silent Hill endings :p

Yep... I dunno why I bother making long posts about RE, it seems like nobody here (except maybe Gekko sometimes) wants to talk about RE games besides their pretty graphics...

That's your general perception of EVERYONE.

But here it's true... because it seems like me and Gekko were the only ones who started topics about the RE remake that didn't have to do with new screenshots or movies, and barely anybody else posted much stuff... *shrugs*

well theres not much to talk about when it comes to RE gameplay. perhaps when RE first debuted then you could talk about its new revolutionary survival/horror gameplay, but now we all know wut the gameplay is like, and we can only assume that it will be relatively the same thing for the next titles in the series.

so essentially, when a new RE game comes out (unless its something like RE survivor), theres really not a whole lot to talk about besides looks.

And DH, I'd listen to your RE stories if it didn't have so many spoilers... ok I'll admit, I just don't know anything about RE, I'm still playing my first RE game (REmake)... :-o

Yeah cuz y'know, you couldn't talk about what you wish would happen in the game (storyline-wise), any kinds of extras or other characters you'd like to see make a comback, any kinds of gameplay additions you think would be neat, or any other neat things about the game... There's more to talk about in games than just gameplay (which in RE is always the same) and graphics (which in the more recent RE games are always very good) :p

Well, since DMC really started out as RE 4, I would say they were planning for the game to be a bit faster, and more action packed...
I'm waiting for more video footage.:D

well perhaps i didnt explain perfectly. i meant like when an RE is just shown with little to no information revealed on it, then really you cant talk about much besides how it looks so far. such is the case with RE4. sure, we could talk forever about wut we'd like to see in the game, but right now most people will just be talking about how it looks (moving camera? pre-rendered backgrounds? was the movie all in real time? was it actual gameplay screens?).

you could talk about control, but how it will control is really anyone's guess, since it does mainly depend on whether or not the backgrounds are pre-rendered.

you could talk about gameplay, perhaps it'll have more of a DMC-esque type of fighting where as you can move around easier while fighting and possibly lock onto multiple targets, or have a better use of melee weapons.

character comebacks, or any other story aspects are of course still a mystery.

the RE4 movie doesnt leave that much to talk about in terms of gameplay or story. ok, so Leon is back, and possibly hes infected and this may play a role with the gameplay, but right now, that's anybody's guess.

not too many people are creative and like to talk a lot about stuff they arent sure on. i could talk for hours on wut i think about that 2 minute RE4 video, but most people will watch it and say "meh, graphics look good".

so, yeah....

I don't know who said it in the beginning of this thread, but DivX has nothing to do with better real-time graphics. Only with prerenderd ones. 45% of the movie...

Oh give me a break. I don't know why, but if someone sent you a screen before they said anything about RE4, you'd talk about the graphics first and not about Sherry's little story and whatever happened to her. We know nothing about the freaking game except it stars Leon and 'it takes place in the heart of umbrella.'

In my opinion, you're just complaining and being annoying like usual ;)

Just because everybody else thinks about the graphics first, doesn't mean I do too... I'm serious, I wasn't like "OOO OMG LOOK AT THE GRAPHICS OOO" and the fact that Leon is back is far more neato than good graphics, IMO...

This is how my impressions of the movie went:

*sees that camera moves* Cool it's 3D with a moving camera

*Sees that it says something about Leon* Awesome, Leon's back!

and I'm not kidding... besides, when I first saw the movie I didn't have it all downloaded and the movie stopped playing while Leon's name was on the screen :p

I hate how it seemed like with the remake a lot of people were like OOO OMG LOOK AT THE GRAPHICS I HAVE GOT TO GET THIS GAME then it comes out and not many people talk about it, and the ones that do say they're a bit dissapointed in it, etc... Then look at RE0... graphics this graphics that, now it's out and nobody's talking about it much...

But speaking of RE0, I just rented it and so far I think it's really good and the intro is neat seeing the Bravo team and I like how you switch between characters... It's neat and groovy... And using the normal RE type controls on the NGC controller isn't as bad as I remembered it being with the remake (although it's still not as good as control type C :p )...

So there... I'm not complaining there, am I?... Well except that the controls still aren't as good as Type C in the remake, but I also added that they weren't as bad as I thought it'd be... so NYEH TO YOU! :sneaky:

PN 03 looks really sweet, viewtiful Joe looks sweet, and RE4 looks great, also, Killer 7 looks really sweet!

These will be the games that will push the 'Cube and show what it can really do. meh, thats just my comment/opinion.
