Could you guys do me a favor?

I'm in marching band, as some of you know, and our city is have a "competition" so to say. It's called the Battle of the Bands. Well, our band really wants to win to get a good reputation going, because we're only a second year school. It's extremely easy to vote, so if you guys could only take a second or two of your time, and vote, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Landstown High School
City:Virginia Beach

I think today is the last day to vote, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Recently they changed it so that you have to register first, because they dont want people voting more than once. So, you can still sign up and vote if you want to, but you don't have to. thanks anyways.

Dyne 10-30-2002 03:28 PM

There you go. It's always fun to help a fellow bandie.;)

Ginkasa 10-30-2002 04:23 PM

I don't have to...

but I'd love to ;)

DeathsHand 10-30-2002 05:53 PM

I already did it once, and now you ask it of me again!? *smack*

PureEvil 10-30-2002 06:12 PM

Your marching band must really, really suck if you're actually asking people over the internet -- Who've never heard or seen the band -- to vote for y'all in a competition.

One horrible, horrible band.

It would be stupid to have people who have heard and can judge the band vote, because then the poll would actually be truthful, hey?

Joeiss 10-30-2002 09:35 PM

LOL.

ZebraRampage 10-30-2002 09:40 PM

Yo I'm in the marching band for my school, and I play Bari Sax. What instrument do you play? Well just to let you know, I voted.

One Winged Angel 10-30-2002 10:03 PM

I'm also in the band in my school. I play the saxophone.

We almost made State in Texas :(

True, it is stupid for asking random people across the internet.

But remember, school bands for brand new schools that just opened are not that good. My school opened like 4 years ago. The first 2 years was a very bumpy ride.

GameMaster 10-30-2002 10:21 PM

Go Marionette! :)

I play the contra alto bass clarinet. Our band has been invited to a music invitation in Sydney, Australia. We'll be playing at the Sydney Opera House this June! For those who live down under, I'll be looking for you.

CrOnO_LiNk 10-30-2002 10:21 PM

Ahhhh! I hate registering for stuff! I am way too lazy...

GameKinG 10-30-2002 10:37 PM

Hey, a fellow Bari Sax Player, way to go.

Of course, I do suck at it (Just got a scocking mark on my grade 3 exam.)

Id look out for you gamemaster, but I sorta live in Melbourne, not Sydney.

bobcat 10-31-2002 04:22 AM

Lmao PE. We're not horrible, but we're not the best. Our first year we placed first in about everything we competed in, and this year, we've gotten a lot of firsts and seconds. Also, the poll will never be truthful, because half the people in Virginia Beach haven't heard the different bands play. We're just trying to get publicity in a way. But anyways, thanks to all those who voted. I appreciate it.

I play the flute. We're going to Cary, North Carolina this weekend, and later in the year, we're going to Orlando, Flordia. So ya, that should be fun...

Angrist 11-01-2002 10:37 AM

So.... who won?

marionette 11-04-2002 11:30 PM

Well, we didn't, but we were up there. Thanks anyways guys. lol.

The teacher conferences at my friend's school is either Friday or NEXT Tuesday... which gives them a 4 day weekend...

But he doesn't go to a normal public school... he goes to this magical school "program" that offers more freedom to choose classes and such, similar to that of college...

*pats good old Arlington Country Schools webpage on back*

GameMaster 11-06-2002 12:48 AM

I get next Monday because it's Vetran's Day In California :p

Wait, what do you mean everyone else gets that day too?

:D

yes, I read it, but it's a mean cute! ;) and DH, I didn't get a chance to tell you because you weren't on, lol. and We got Tuesday off for elections, and we get this monday off for a teacher work day. There's only one week in november that I go for a full week of school, and that's in two weeks, but otherwise, we have one day off each week for different reasons.

GameMaster 11-06-2002 11:47 PM

Marionette is lucky. I think if all school weeks were four days, grades and test scores would climb. I'm being serious, I think students would perform better having that one extra day off.

Lord Germano 11-06-2002 11:59 PM

Id have to agree with gamemaster on that one. A happy worker equals a good worker.

jeepnut 11-07-2002 02:29 PM

Of course, then we would get used to the 4 day week and then get lazy again. When we would have a 3 day week for some reason, we would say "Wow. I wish I had 3 day weeks all the time." And the cycle would begin anew.

marionette 11-07-2002 04:30 PM

Well, we don't go four days every week. It just happens to be so that we have a day off of each week in November, besides one.

Yeah, except that 3 day weeks could never be negotiated. I think four day weeks could because you still have more work days than weekend days.
