Good possibility of Squaresoft announcing a new Gamecube game tommorow?

Here's the news article from NGC-Online.net:

According to the email magazine of a gameshop called Famix, Squaresoft is holding a strategic meeting tomorrow. Supposedly, a new title or titles for the GC will be announced. Regardless of whether this is true or just a rumor, it is known that something big will come of tommorow, so well just have to wait and see if these reports are true. All we can hope is that Square gives the Gamecube some good, healthy RPG lovin.

They got it from Famix and Quiter which are some reliable sources. They're both in Japanese.

Personally, I am hoping to come home from school tomorow and seeing....

:chrono: "Chrono Break exclusive to the Nintendo Gamecube!" :chrono:

Who am I kidding? That'll never happen... Or would it? :link2:

GameMaster 10-22-2002 12:14 AM

That's exciting :)

Dyne 10-22-2002 12:16 AM

Tomorrow seems like a big day for the cube. The "supposed" release of the modem and this. Niice..... yes, I want to see some Chrono Break on my Cube as well. =D

Blix 10-22-2002 10:42 AM

More rpgs wouldn't hurt the GC. I hope this is true. I am looking foward to this.

DarkMaster 10-22-2002 03:21 PM

i doubt that they'll make Chrono Break for the Cube, but it sounds more like an all together completely different game. it better not be like Chocobo Racing 2 or something....

Jason1 10-22-2002 03:41 PM

Hm...well its tomorrow now...has anybody heard anything about this?

DeathsHand 10-22-2002 03:50 PM

Square held a thingy...

http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories...895377,00.html

But no new NGC game announced... *shrugs*...

DarkMaster 10-22-2002 04:25 PM

yeah, Square has one of those every year, and just like every year there's really nothing new at all.

Mediocre 10-22-2002 04:37 PM

Im pretty confindent that Squares new GameCube game is Super Chocobo Ball or a port of Kingdom Hearts.

DarkMaster 10-22-2002 04:48 PM

Super Chocobo Ball? boy, that sounds kinda familiar.....no wait, there were monkeys in that game

Crono 10-22-2002 05:09 PM

I highly doubt CB would be on GCN, especially if the story is connected to CT's and CC's, which it most likely will be. Yeah...

GameMaster 10-22-2002 06:30 PM

I wouldn't mind a port of Kingdom Hearts

CrOnO_LiNk 10-22-2002 06:39 PM

Guys, guess what!? A game was announced for the Gamecube... Yes, a Square game! The Magic Box confirmed it!

Here's what it says,

G A M E C U B E

- Square mentioned that they are currently developing a second game title for GameCube, besides Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle.

Well, it seems like they're keeping the game secret. But the good thing is that it's at least announced. So we will wait and see.

DeathsHand 10-22-2002 08:05 PM

Why didn't gamespot mention anything about Squaresoft mentioning a second game in development for NGC?

"A Nintendo official took to the stage and gave a speech regarding Square's collaborative effort with Nintendo to bring new games to the GameCube and Game Boy Advance, namely Final Fantasy Chronicle, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and Chocobo Land."

That makes it sound like yes there will be new NGC/GBA games made by Square because they will continue to develop for the systems, but no there's not one specific game with a name they're keeping secret, which makes it sound like something bigger... at least to me... it does... *shrugs*...

DarkMaster 10-22-2002 08:16 PM

anything bigger than Final Fantasy returning on a Nintendo system has got to be REAL big.

Well ...he said I may find it interesting...so I pretended to be interested...you know to make sure Gameking doesn't feel useless in his existence. ;) j/k

But in all honesty why couldn't the company publish it themselves?? I mean if they could act as developer for Gamecube why not publish as well?
