The "Test of Genuis" or so They Say..
Anyhow, it's this fun little actrivity we get with certain subs. And I just wanted to see how some of the folks here fared.
Anyhow since I'm lazy and tired, I'm just gonna post one question here now and it will be cut in legnht. If you have a total of 20 which are just dimes and nickels, how many of each do you have to get a total of $1.35? |
7 dimes and 13 nickels

what's the limit of the function
f(x)= X^2-5x+6 ------------------ x-3 (that's a fraction, by the way) (and "X^2" is X squared) ...as x approaches 3? t(^-^) |

 ;) |
my head hurts:unsure:

Quote:
(x-3)(x-2) ------------ x-3 X-3 cancels out which leaves you with x-2 when x is approaching 3 Which means the limit is 1. |

Anyhow, next question I suppose What is the largest number of pieces you could cut a pie into with 4 straight cuts of a knife? |
im guessing 8...but then again, my head hurts:p
|
10 just cause apple pie is better than cherry pie and having 10 slices would be cool
|
the most i got was 14
like so: ![]() the last cut is parallel to the to the table, or whatever the pie is sitting on... |

Okay, I'm confused now. This was a really simple question. So why are we cutting pies and doing equations?

we're done with the first question, if that's what you're asking |
Well since no one got the last one, I'll just leave it up to see if anyone gets it *cough Xantar cough*
Anyhow, here is another one, Write an expression equal to 10 that uses five 9's plus any signs of arithemtic you need. |
Nobody got the last one?
I thought drolldurham's answer was accepted. Anyway, 9 x 9 -------- + 9 = 10 9 x 9 In case the formatting gets messed up or something, that's nine times nine divided by nine and divided by nine again then added to nine. |
