Remember way back when there was still Nintendo's Project Dolphin they said Mario will become more mature?

And people would joke around with pics like this:


Well, whatever happened to Nintendo's mature Mario? Is Sunshine it? Or have they just figured people would forget about that little statement of theirs?

Yeah, sunshine is it. When everybody saw the video they were like "oh amazing, he looks so much more mature"

I guess they had bad lighting that suddenly made things look more mature. Wish they had those at E3...

What do you mean by mature. Is that your way of asking for more violence, gore, and innappropiate themes? That's not mature. Just thought I'd clarify that.

Shigeru said that the next Mario game for the GCN would have more mature graphics.

I personaly thought that it just mean it would look more realistic than other games, less cartoony. Maybe the game being a little darker than other games as well.

I think he looks more mature and not as cute as he was. He probably won't dream of spaghetti and say stupid cute things and make those sounds when he jumps. I think by mature, they mean mario himself don't they. The old games he looked mature until mario 3, I think thats when he started going down the cute and cuddly path.

How could he be 'kiddy' in Mario 3?? I think it started with the Super Mario Show or something... Or with Mario 64.

I think that's what he said on an interview or something. He said something along the lines of: "mario will atract people of all ages." Or something like that. meaning that Mario would not have a target audience (Kids). which kinda contradict saying that he would be more "mature." But anyway he said more mature. Not just mature. :D

And he was refering to more of the gameplay.
