Who's getting the game? I'm getting the Limited Edition Xbox 360 on September 20. I'm planning on playing hoard online but I don't really like the versus mode for that game. Let me know if you're getting it so we can exchange gamer tags and play online.

I had to cancel Battlefield 3 and Rage from my pre-orders because I don't have much money. I kept Gears 3 and Zelda: Skyward Sword.

I just placed my pre-order yesterday on Amazon because offering 20 bucks in store credit, and already had 10 from Portal 2!

Anyhow, I need some co-op partners since my friends wussed out after the beta!

I just got and played through Gears 2 the other day (it was $15 on xbl) so I may get this one too, and I can co-op with you Earl.

Earl and I beat most of the co-op together last game.

Same! Earl helped me complete the co-op campaign for Gears 2 on Insane. I might just splurge and get the year of Live and Gears 2 and take that out of my general spending money.

I'm getting my GOW3 console come next Thursday. I still went to the midnight launch with my friend. So who got the game? I got to play one round of multiplayer and one round of horde and they were good. Horde was better because I suck at multiplayer on this game. lol But that could change eventually. I look forward to playing with some of you guys online.

It did but I still have to pay a bit of it and I get paid tomorrow. So that's why I couldn't get it on launch day. Anyways... did you get it?

I rented it, and GameFly managed to get it to me on release day (kudos to them). Not a Gears fan, but figured I'd play a little bit of it. Got nothing else in my queue.

I beat the game tuesday around 8 PM EST.

Honestly, I was disappointed in the campaign. Now having finished the trilogy, was thinking back on the games in general, and the story fucking sucks.

The multiplayer is badass though. It's like Gears 1.

I haven't even played horde or beast mode yet though.

For real. The second one had some of the worst dialogue ever. And they hired an actual novelist to write it.

I like the Gears games because of how bad the dialogue/story is. It's so full of cheese. My friend Emily texted me last night when she beat the game and said that she hated the series, but couldn't complain because it had the perfect amount of cheese and gore. What else can you ask for in an unrealistic alien-invasion shooter?

I haven't played GoW3 yet though. I'll probably plow through it with a buddy sometime this weekend, however.

I love Gears of War for pretty much the same reason.

Big over the top action heroes, giving the most cliche-ridden dialogue ever, but its just so fun.

Yeah, I'm not complaining at all. I love cheezy-ness. One of my favorite lines so far is "It's a GOD DAMN leviathan!"

I got the game and I've got to improve my aiming. LOL. I just began the campaign and played it online with a friend. The coop is nice. See you guys online.

Just finished the game. Loved all of it except the final boss battle, which sucked.

I mean, am I missing something, or was there no way to win that unless you stuck close to your team and let yourself get killed/revived over and over?

Yeah, but that doesn't help with the unending horde of locust that are shooting at you from every angle.

Yeah seems made for co-op.

I ran around taking care of those Locust members while Magus focused on taking out the Queen

But it just went on way too long for my liking.

Well you have to dodge the boss in insane mode because it doesn't just down you it kills you.

I can see how co-op would have made it a lot easier. I'll definitely be doing my Insane run on co-op. We should get a big party of GT'ers going for it.

I'm also going to do another run through on casual to pick up all the collectibles.

Also, quick comment on the ending:

I'm a little disapointed they didn't answer all the questions surrounding the locust. Why the heck does the Queen look like a human? What was on the disc Adam gave to Baird? I'm guessing we'll have to buy DLC to see it, and that's a little frustrating.

Actually co-op on insane would probably make it harder since the ai on insane doesn't actually die from 1 hit death stuff. As far as I know you can't actually be downed on insane, it's just death at the point you would be downed.

You forgot the part where the queen doesn't actually die in the pulse that kills the lambent/locust. So she was human. In all reality locust are probably human made thanks to hints from the lab in gears 2 with the sires, and the fact that the queen is human (well it's implied at least), gonna just go with that.

And I already got the season pass, so bring on the dlc!
