Steam Holiday Sale

Started yesterday, way too much stuff to post what all is on sale, but I thought it would be fun to post what you've bought/going to buy.

For the sale yesterday I bought:

Battlefield Bad Company 2 for $6.79
Super Meat Boy for ~$2
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom for $.50

Today I think I'm going to buy Aion for $10. It has a monthly fee, but I've always been really curious and wanted to check it out. I'm really considering Burnout Paradise the Ultimate Box for $5 too.

I need to sit down and look through all the $5 indi game packs as well.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

If you even remotely like RPGs or adventure games, buy The Witcher for $5.

Five effing dollars. God damn, man.

Vampyr 12-21-2010 05:54 PM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Already bought that one an another sale a while back for around $5. :)

Great game.

Yeah Moogle, I'm in the same situation, lol :)

And imagine my surprise when today, after I bought the Humble Bundle 2, they told me that I was eligible to download the Humble Bundle 1 games as well.

I had already bought Samorost 2 from the Steam sale. I wouldn't have had I known.

Also bought Portal for $7.49 (It was $3.70 or something yesterday but I wasn't home :()

Also thinking about buying BioShock and Beyond Good and Evil, and maybe Torchlight.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Oh I actually got torchlight back when it was 10 dollars for the anniversary. Other than that, league of legends and heroes of newerth are the only games I had before.

I'm not going for anything today.

Uhm well, as far as RPGs go Recettear is really funny, and is like secret of mana and old school dungeon crawlers with item shop running built in. Well worth the 6.50.

I don't really remember. However, I have the blank paper if you want me to email it to you sometime for full quality.

F

I just bought bad company 2 for 20$ yesterday. I just have my macbook with no steam account on it, until I get back to my apartment in january. Can anyone tell me if the steam sale for bc2 is still on, and if so, when it might end?

edit:
haha so I got BF2:pack for myself and a buddy. Annoyed that i missed meatboy for 2 bucks.

now pondering whether to get Arkham Asylum...

Today didn't really interest me. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

looks like they took the best deals of the last few days and brought them back all together for today. Makes sense. Man have I bought a lot of shit so far. We'll have to have a list of stuff we bought when this is over, because lists are dope as hell.

Meatboy was 3.75, and it's back to that price today. Hope you see this.

And agreed we will have to make lists.

What should I get?

Bube 12-26-2010 05:00 PM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Hmm.. I just couldn't resist Torchlight at $5, so I got that today. I'm seeing that Borderlands is $10, so I might get that..

I wouldn't miss The Orange Box at $15, but I already have most of the games so.. Mass Effect at $10, BioShock at $5 look great as well.

Quick question about Borderlands: Do you play through the single player game in co-op multi, like in Halo 3? How does game saving and stuff work?

And here's a bigger question: I want to play multiplayer with my brother; Borderlands or Left 4 Dead or L4D2?

Bond 12-26-2010 05:00 PM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Do ya'll have L4D2 for PC? I would be more inclined to purchase it through Steam than for the 360.

Bube 12-26-2010 05:05 PM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Lol, I don't. That's why I was asking what to get ;)

Aion really sucks IMO ;)

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Ok, Left 4 Dead 2 at $6.79. Nobody bothered to answer my question but I'm buying this.

Bond 12-30-2010 02:43 PM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Woah, only $6.79? I'll buy that if some others do.

TheSlyMoogle 12-30-2010 03:12 PM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Bond I already have l4d2 on steam. Like I said all the dlc for free.

Angrist 12-31-2010 05:34 AM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Woah that is really tempting. :( I loved the demo of L4D1.

Buy it! Then my bro and I can play 3-player co-op with you!

Angrist 12-31-2010 11:11 AM

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Yeah and with my bro we'd have a full party...
But I have to pass on this one. When I played the demo of L4D1, I got nightmares remember?
I might play it if there was a way to disable the gore and make the zombies less human-like.

Jedi Knight pack today is tempting.

Hmm, then that may be a problem.

Although you can reduce the gore in L4D2 (don't know about 1), you can't turn it off completely. And I never even thought they resembled humans :)

Bought it as soon as I saw it.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale

Kind of unrelated but I bought World of Goo and it is probably the most awesome [insert genre] game I have played since Portal.

I classify World of Goo to be in the same genre as Pikmin and Portal. I have no clue what that genre would be other than original, groundbreaking and cute. Well Portal wasn't cute. But you get my point.

Think that its like a physics based puzzle game.

But video game genres are so tough to classify at times.

I picked up Dead Rising 2 for $20 but I haven't played it yet - I'm pretty stoked.

Capcom Vancouver's recruiter has been talking to me so I figure I'd play their game before continuing, hahaha.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale
