GameTavern PokeTournament!
 

Rules:

Each participant is assigned 10 random Pokemon from a list of final Pokemon forms.

The first two weeks after the draft will be comprised of all of us helping eachother get their Pokemon.

Each participant's list will be posted in this thread.

The tournament is round robin, and you choose your best 6 Pokemon based on what you think your opponent will pull out.

The tournament will be sometime in July.

We need to come to a consensus on what the level cap should be.

I want to join. Tournament standard pokemans is level 50. Plus there is a list of banned pokemans that pretty much include every legendary pokemans.

The 7 legendaries that are not banned are the 3 birds (Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres) and the 3 dogs (Suicune, Entei and Raikou) and also Rotom.

The reason is because the legends in the other games all have increased stat growth and stuff. In other words they are broken. One of them can unbalance what would be an ok tournament.

I'm interested to see how this goes. I can probably supply what pokemans people don't have although there are a few who I only have the information for and not the actual pokemans.

I banned all legendaries but Rotom. If you can find the list of universally banned Pokemon, I'll take them off the list. Wobbuffet is one of them, right?

OMG Here are the banned pokemans and general rules list:

1. No more than one of the same item held by your Pokemon. For example, only one Pokemon in your team can hold a leftovers

2. No 1 Hit KO move are permitted. Moves like Sheer Wind and Horn Drill are a no no

3. No repeated Pokemon. For example, your not allowed two Charizards on your team.

4. No moves that raises evasion. Moves like Double Team and Minimize are not allowed. When gamers use these moves, the game turns into a game of luck and chance. You CAN however use moves that can lower your opponent's accuracy. Moves like Sand Attack and Mud Slap are allowed.

5. Any game altering cheats and effects will result in immediate disqualifications, i.e. Action Replay cheats. (Although pokemon gained using action replay or other cheats are ok as long as they are not banned and no other alterations were used.)

6. Sleep Clause in effect. You can only put ONE of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at a time (moves like spore, hypnosis, yawn etc). If you opponent switches out the pokemon that you put to sleep, YOU CANNOT PUT ANOTHER POKEMON TO SLEEP unless the previous Pokemon wakes up or is KOed. Self inducing sleep from moves like Rest doesn't count and abilities that causes sleep like effect spore also doesn't count in the sleep clause.

7. Some pokemon are not allowed in the tournament. Period. They are not limited to only legendaries so please make notes and formulate your team. Here is a list:

Lugia, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Groudon Rayquaza, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Darkrai, Arceus, Mew, Mewtwo, Celebi, Latios, Latias, Regirock, Registeel, Regice, Jirachi, Mesprit, Uxie, Azelf, Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia, Manaphy, Shaymin

Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp, Bronzong, Lucario, Blissey, Wobbuffet, Wynaut, Ninjask, Weavile, Togekiss, Dragonite, Snorlax, Aerodactyl

Note: Some of the regular pokemon were banned because of the stats, move sets, or overuse by users.






There you go. If you need reasons why some of the pokemans are banned let me know. Some people may be like WTF? Ninjask banned? Ninjask has 2 pokemon powers and the more rare pokemon powers makes it virtually invincible.

So yeah, there is the list. I have all the Johto starters and stuff. For the most part I just don't have about 40 of the new pokemon because I gained them through trades with my friend peet and then traded back. I can get them though either by catching or breeding his.

That's a lot of non-legendaries banned.

What's the deal with those? (sepcifically Aerodactyl, Dragonite, Togekiss, Garchomp, Lucario and Bronzong)

Garchomp is a bad ass, I'm going to train one up eventually.

I'd love to get the Johto starters, maybe we can talk on facebook to get a trade going. If you want actual copies of some of the pokemon you don't have entries for, perhaps I can hook you up with those. I have access to both diamond and pearl.

Selfdestruct isnt a 1 hit KO move by definition. It just does a shit load of damage

So what should we do about people who got less than a fair shake? My thought it to pick the 5 people with the shittiest teams and let them pick 5 Pokemon to get rid of and redraft.
