I NEED to see something new from Naughty Dog, but I doubt it will happen.. it seems to soon after Uncharted.

Also, PLEASE GOD LET THERE BE A TRAILER FOR INFAMOUS!!!

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

2.41 is nice and all but when the fuck are they going to fixed crushed blacks on RGB Full mode? Games really hurt in dark areas and it's really disappointing. I've given up and switched to RGB limited. It's just so bad because I really don't want to change TV settings between movies and games.

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

I'm definitely interested in seeing something along the lines of a Crystal Tools demonstration from Square Enix, and something interesting related to Mirror's Edge. Mirror's Edge seemed gritty and very interesting to me.

I also saw the Killzone 2 trailer that was put up on PSN. Hoping to see some more footage since we all know that there is a release date in February.

I'd love to see something good from Naughty Dog too. From what I played of Uncharted it seemed great.

A new Team Ico project would be fantastic. I never played Ico but I absolutely loved Shadow of the Colossus.

And please GOD no more Compilation of Final Fantasy 7 stuff.

PLEASE.

Resistance 2 has 60 player online multiplayer? Nice!

PSN to get Gamertags.

Bond 07-15-2008 03:16 PM

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

Doesn't PSN already have gamertags?

Beats the hell out of me.
Sounded like it was based on each game.
And then can use online.

Again.. only based on what heard.

Siren looks awesome.

So... it sounds like HOME still isn't ready for beta.

It is looking good from what was shown though.

Jeebsus
256 players online?
haha

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

InFamous looked really cool, and I don't know how Zipper is going to pull off 256 player matches. If they can, I would think it would be pretty amazing.

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

$400 GB PS3 announced.

God of War III short trailer.

Did I miss anything else? (I got called away to go look at something)

P.S. HOME is looking a lot better, but I am disappointed that the beta isn't in the distant future.

Not really, I kind of fell asleep. Typical Sony conference. :lolz:

Although, they're getting better. No more Riiiiiiiiiidge Racccccceeeeerrrr.

Hmm, pretty boring.

Was anyone else hoping for a $50 price cut?

It might have pushed me over the edge to purchase a PS3...

When they announced the price drop of the 80 GB I assumed the 40 GB would get a temp price drop to clear out inventory.

Also, I think all 3 conferences were varying levels of dull. With MS being the most exciting due to the one huge surprise announcement.

Home has been out in beta guys. My co-worker has it, although he played it when it first came out so he said it didn't look like much then. That was a long while ago too.

The God of War 3 teaser failed.

I want screens. I want gameplay. COME ON.

That thing in Resistance 2 looked pretty nuts.

MAG looks crazy if they're able to pull it off.

I never saw anything related to LittleBigPlanet and it looked kinda interesting.

The new Ratchet and Clank looks cool. I liked playing Tools.

Then that's not a true beta. A beta, to my understanding, is a near-finished version of the game/content that is in the final testing phase. That being said, HOME shouldn't be near beta.

Hopefully Dyne can clear up this confusion from his experience with TUROK.

Dyne 07-15-2008 05:02 PM

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

Yeah, beta usually just means they're pushing for no more bugs. Alpha means that the game is finally playable with minimal showstopper bugs. You need to register to get alpha status from Microsoft and Sony, or whoever is licencing your game. I think because Home is a different kind of experience, it's probably been alpha for a while.

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

Infamous was beyond amazing, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty was fucking amazing, R2 looks phenomenal, along with the GoW 3 teaser which was epic, AND new firmware tonight for a video service. Sony provides greatness as usual.

Bond 07-15-2008 07:50 PM

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

Did I miss this "Infamous?" What you talking about?

Dyne 07-15-2008 07:57 PM

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

Infamous is the new "superhero" game from the Sly Cooper guys. I remember it being shown, it was one of the last games.

Perfect Stu 07-15-2008 11:17 PM

Re: Sony Press Conference: Stream & Discussion

platform action game with superhuman powers...in a city destroyed by some sort of explosion, you choose to use your powers for good or for evil doing.

from the limited footage i've seen just climbing all over the city will be fun. the platforming elements in Sly Cooper were great, and I have high expectations for this game.

It was nice to see some acknowledgment of the game. It's coming, and the trailer although it was CGI was still great to watch.
