Mafianic 815 Epilogue: Live together, die alone
 

The most important thing to do in terms of preparation was of course to rally my crash-mates to pick up their weapons; umbrellas, bamboo poles, whatever we could find. Without Sawyer around to save us, it was up to me to instill hope into the hearts of my friends.

I formulated a plan. A plan so genius that nobody saw it coming; not even me! The plan was to stage a daring island infiltration of the Others' camp.

Unfortunately for me, we had no leads as to where their camp was. So I went with my back-up plan: hide in the caves and beg for mercy.

But Michael didn't seem to agree with my backup plan. Nooo, he had to go with plan A and storm off into the jungle for revenge. Well guess who'll be waiting for him when he gets himself killed. Not Neil, that's for sure.

Everyone is on edge. We know they'll be back...we just don't know when. The only people we have capable of fighting are me (since I have a gun), and Mr. Eko since that guy is built like a brick wall that has jesus-loving fists of righteous justice.

It occured to me for the first time since Kate went missing that we have no idea who these Others are. As far as we know they haven't killed any of us...we've only killed them...and eachother. Who are they? What do they want from us? Why do they kidnap us? How did they get here? But since I'm in charge of a large group of people who want to go home to their families, I will put my duties as their leader before my ponderings. It's time for vengeance. Vengeance for Kate, and for Shannon, vengeance for Libby, and for Ethan! Well...not as much for Ethan.

I will save us all if it's the last thing I do.

Today was the day. The bearded man came back through the jungle, but he came alone. Says he came to talk. He came without weapons. He promised me that if I put my gun down too, we could all talk, pleasant-like. So I did.

He barely got two words out of his mouth when Hurley pipes up.

"Who are you, dude!? Why are you taking our people? What's wrong with you!?"

The bearded man was stunned and told him to relax. Hurley starts yelling.

"No, man. I'm not relaxing. I'm just not sitting here, taking everything in stride. Good ol' fun-time Hurley. Not anymore, man. I want some answers and I want them now!"

The bearded man tells him to calm down but Hurley picks up my gun and shoots him in the chest.

"That was for Walt!", he yelled.

The bearded man falls over dead. The rest of the survivors crowd around him...cheering. He took it all away from me.

He took my moment of heroism away from me. The rest all think I was a sympathizer who was going to give in to the bearded man's demands...and now Hurley is the hero.

I HATE HIM SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

GOD! I will hate Hurley until the day that I die.

It's been a week since the last incident. Not a single Other has come back for us. Maybe they don't think it's worth the trouble. Maybe they'd just rather leave us all here to die on our own. Meanwhile Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Charlie, Jin, Sayid, and heck probably even Michael are all together. Probably still alive. Here I am. Alone, friendless. Why wouldn't they take me? What's wrong with me? Ethan said I was a good person. Why couldn't he take me back with them...

I'm so alone here.

Looks like a little luck is with us after all! One of my island roommates spotted something off the coast of the island.

He says it's a freighter!!!

I thought the Others had it. They played very, very well. But the survivor team's ability to network prevailed and saved the day.

FUCK YEAH! AFTER ALL THAT SHIT LAST NIGHT I'M GLAD TO SEE THAT I WENT WITH THE RIGHT PERSON!! It was like, 2 fucking hours of PM's with these guys just trying to decide who was the other.

Yep, you seemed legit from the start. When I went back and looked at the PM's Teuthida's seemed like he was really reaching with the first PM I got from him last night. But that's not to say that Teuth didn't play a good game last night with the messages, he had me swayed a couple times.

So what was TML's special action? Was that a ruse?

I knew there was an enemy in the ranks. It seemed too perfect that I got killed right after I protected Bond, like they knew somehow. And Teuth did, because he was in our circle of trust. Well, at least Bond's PMs were going out to him along with me, Aladuf, and Prof S. We trusted you Teuthida!!

Pretty sure always informed Bond to never PM in groups.
Danny was all my fault though it seems. :(

The only person outside of Squrel (for different reasons) I wouldn't expect to lie to me so never really gave it a second-thought.

It was a fun game though. My guesses on Others was a bit off though was telling folks to vote off Jeepnut for ages, but I was lucky enough to find out who Bond and Manasecret were in the first two rounds so had the Guardian, Seer and Vigilante working together.

And as long as our little alliance had the voting majority, we had a good chance of winning. Oddly, it only came down to two of us in the Alliance being in the final round.

The game just kind of took a nose dive for me on the 3rd day since forgot I work :lol: and was leaving town for the majority of the game.

Yeah, well, what really won this game was BaB picking myself and mana to use his power on the first two rounds. We were pretty formidable after that, it was just a matter of BaB finding the survivors, me killing them, and mana protecting the right people. Another key was that our group of Survivors almost always had a voting majority.

Although I have to say, mana, you were right about there being a traitor, haha. Sorry about that.

I was blatantly the Vigilante so that the seer could find me fast.

That is a great idea with the secret forums too, much better than those damn PMs.

Yeah, always a chance with expanding the circle.

It was also why never shared who the vigilante/guardian was with our Alliance.

I am curious Dyflon, what would have happened if final round was 1 on 1? Did the Others win?

Anyhow, I hope the next one is the Nintendo themed one we were promised.

I honestly did not deserve the survive this game, as I sucked from beginning to end, unlike last time I played when I warped minds like water warps wood. My arrogance in my former success proved my undoing, and shall humble myself in an attempt to refocus for the next round.

By the way, I far prefer the scifi/fantasy stories for these games as I think it gives people a more attractive opportunity to role play.

Yeah, that threw us for a bit of a loop. I had no idea what he was trying to accomplish by claiming to be the vigilante after Bond being so obvious about it for so long. We had no choice but to stick with our plans though.

Yeah, I tried to throw a last dich effort to preserve Bond because of his power and have you guys kill me. Taking one for the team, as they say. I was 90% sure it wouldn't work, but it was worth a shot as I knew Bond would be almost surely killed once the Guardian was gone.

I think so. It was probably my mistake as I told mana to protect me. It retrospect, he probably should have protected himself that round, and then protected me the next round.

And that was funny Professor. First time I read it I wasn't sure at all what you were trying to do, haha.

I went with the odds and who was more important. Keeping Bond alive was the most important thing. I knew the chances were that you were going to attempt kill the Guardian, but three things kept me from protecting myself.

1. We still didn't know for sure that you knew I was the Guardian. So if y'all went after the Guardian, there was a chance you could have killed another Survivor who wasn't. However, I expected you would guess it was me because I have been so active. (Of course, we didn't know about the Traitor at the time..)

2. There was a chance that you guys would think I would protect myself and instead try to kill the Vigilante (Bond) again, thinking he was left unprotected. In fact, you guys did contemplate that notion.

3. All other things aside, we HAD to have Bond to win. The chances were the Others were going to capture me. But there was STILL a small chance you would go after Bond again, and losing him for one more round might have been fatal. That chance overruled guarding anyone else that late in the game.

I felt protecting Bond was important as well.

Because if it came down to any of us 3 having powers, it made more sense for Bond to be there. As my Seer powers would be obvious if I voted for the Others, and while Mana could protect himself he really had no other means of attack.

It was great that the Seer, Guardian and Vigilante were able to come together so quickly so that there were no mistakes such as trying to vote me off early. Or Bond killing the wrong person.

As for TML, I believe his power was a one time use thing, not sure what it was though.

Oh, and I almost forgot. The round that Bond was outed because he was protected by me, there were TWO captures. We didn't know if that was a special ability or if from there on out you had two captures per round. So you might have been able to capture both of us, meaning I had to protect Bond.

Secret special abilities:

TML (Kate) had the "copy-kate" ability. He could select two targets per night. The first target would be a mimic, if that person had a power he would adopt that power for a round and direct it at the second target.


Prof S (Hurley) had the manifest ability. He could see the results of every seering but did not know who the seer was.


GameMaster and SQurel (jin and sun) started the game knowing who eachother were.


jeepnut (Ethan) had the Preggo Hunter ability. Every round he could check a survivor to see if they were Claire. If the Others team were to abduct Claire, they'd get two kills the following round.

Teuthida had the same ability (called Amber Alert) but directed at Walt.

James (Mikhail) had the kamikaze ability. He could take himself out of the game to take someone else out of the game at the same time.

Germanator (Ben) could control James' ability and trigger whenever he wanted against whoever he wanted. This fact was hidden from James. Also, if he was the last surviving Other, he'd become immune to seering and vigilante kills.

Yeah it was really a long shot for me to begin to pretend I was Michael. It was pretty clear Combine was him from a few rounds ago with all his talk of looking for his son. Far too innocent. I was just hoping you guys overlooked those.


I had horrible success looking for Walt. When I narrowed it down to Bube it was too late. Well, it was either capture him or you. Went after you.

None of us had any idea of Germy's powers on the Others team. If we had known, we probably would have tried to protect him better.

Also, I've never seen a vigilante used in a Mafia game before. What I have seen, similarly to the kamikazee power is the thief. Although, the thief gets to use his power after he dies.

It was funny how easily you can convince yourself of something when you try to apply logic to random guessing. I'm glad I was able to not trust my logic too much, able to back off and see I was wrong about Fox 6. But I probably would have voted BaB off in Round 3 if he hadn't seered me in Round 2 and let me know who he was.

I have a good theme worked out for the next one which will give me much more room narratively since I won't be adapting a story. It'll be an original story where the players themselves are characters.

Just let me know when you think I should start it up.
